this place? http://www.citycentrehouston.com/ many of the spots have been open for 2 years. the land values in the surrounding area will dramatically increase whenever the foreclosure mess ends, and the economy recovers.
curious to see how its going to be when its all done, I've been going there every so often to Studio Movie Grill and I remember when it first opened, it was still under major construction. After seeing the website, I see they've open a few more stores and restaurants.
I've never even heard of this place until now. What is up with the name? Why does the "r" come before the "e"? This isn't Canada. And also, why name it citycentre when it's not even in downtown?
I've been to that one. Austin has the best version. I go to Citycentre for the gym. They built a Cyclone Anayas I want to check out. Its alright, but Austin's is way cooler. It has shops you'd actually want to go to.
i agree with your comments....though would note that it's location is much much closer to the population center of the area than downtown houston is.
because it's the population center of Houston. the demographic center. CityCentre is packed...seriously. On weekends, it's absolutely packed. Great restaurants and bars, many of them being the only one of their kind here in Houston. Nice hotel. Convention center space. It's spurred development and renovation of the Town & Country Village area around it.
i don't believe they're built by the same people....am i wrong? did Midway develop the one in Austin?
It's just a name, mister Realist... I mean, is that really your name? And, who the heck has numbers on their name? Get it?
I live in Spring Branch and I can vouch for CityCentre being packed. With Memorial City Mall, Memorial Hermann Hospital and the attached bajillion-storey hotel, and CityCentre, it's blowing up over here. But it's not cheap, either: I had a $50 tab (before tip) after a few imports and domestic beers with a 10-piece of buffalo wings. I even switched from the imports after a couple because I suspected the trendy nature would equal ridiculous prices. I was shocked at my bill....I rarely go to trendy places so maybe I'm just not familiar, but I couldn't believe the price. There was a ton of nice tail, though.
Same people or not its the same concept except Austin's isn't located at the center. Pepsi vs Coke case at worst.
It's marketing to spell it with British English since European products (or just the idea of Europe and all things related) are considered more upscale than American ones.
i hear ya. i wasn't trying to be argumentative...i was sincerely asking. but not sincere enough to look it up!
The Domain. Somewhere heading outside of Austin. Towards plfugerville or whatever the heck its called.
oh the domain... food: citycentre > domain shopping: citycentre < domain I think domain is going to expand into another phase though.
citycentre has expansion plans as well... in fact there is a ton of proposed developments slated for the entire I-10/Bwy intersection on top of the continued expansion and development of memorial city.
