Definitely could have had a better ending. My thoughts on why it could have had a better ending: Spoiler If he wanted to leave it ambiguous he should have made the female character a bit more likable and a little less wreckless to the point where the male lead pretty much gave up his life blindly, all the while just smiling in the end like the girl really deserved that gift. At least make the female lead look like she actually deserved another shot at life. If anything, he's just a floating head now and she'll just put him in the closet and move on with her life
Hmm. I think you're thoughts are spot on... Funny because you're right. I was thinking the same thing. The female character does seem a bit unappreciative and a little but unlikable in a few ways. He's that nice guy that's willing to give everything he has for her. I had an odd feeling she was going to basically take away a few of his limbs and then dump him... I guess that's where the lack of likability shows up.. I was simply waiting for her to do wrong. Then again.. I guess she did pick him up from work every day. Ha.
