NSFW!!!!! If you like avant-garde cinema this is from Frenchman Gasper Noe, who's Irreversible I could barely get through. <object width="650" height="366"><param name="movie" value="http://ictv-tf-ec.indieclicktv.com/player/embed/97b1fda2ca43d6c29eaf63ed1ec347c6/4bc5fda9e2415/31/0/defaultPlayer-player.swf"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://ictv-tf-ec.indieclicktv.com/player/embed/97b1fda2ca43d6c29eaf63ed1ec347c6/4bc5fda9e2415/31/0/defaultPlayer-player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="650" height="366"></embed></object>
I got through about an hour and a half of this movie. It seems like a movie with so much drug use and t*** would have been able to keep my attention to the end. There were times early in the movie that I thought if I was patient, it might turn out to be a great movie. But, after a while, I realized I didn't really care what ended up happening to the characters, so I stopped watching. Definitely some interesting camera work though. I'm pretty surprised to learn the guy that made the movie was in his mid 40s when he made it. I felt like it had to be made by someone in their 20s as I watched it. Like it or dislike it, it's not your every day movie. If you want to see something different, might be worth a watch.
I had high hopes for this movie but this movie sucks. The director tries really hard to give meaning to this movie but it just ends up like a 13 year old kid's middle school project. The depth of this film is enhanced by the people who are fooled by the director's perceived creativity.
Saw this last year at Sundance and wasn't a fan initially. It could have been the fact that it was the 5th movie of the day and the Schnaps was wearing off giving me a dull headache to begin with, not to mention I jacked up my knee skiing the day before so had a POS roboleg. I was uncomfortable and on edge the whole time with the jarring soundtrack and disorienting pulsing visuals. Could have been my roboleg though. The reincarnation theme was a good thought exercise bc its not a spiritual school of thought explored in most movies that deal with death. Believe me, you'll have time to go off on your own thought tangents. This sucker is looooooong.
