I hate the whole Smith clan. I know the majority on here hate Shyamalan. So this might be the bbs 2013 film we all can hate.

I think Will Smith trying to do his best Morgan Freeman is the 'twist'.

    Jaden Smith looks 17-18 (he's 14).

His acting looks horrible. Same facial expression every time.

    He will never be forgiven.

And I am tired of Will Smith. He could have redeemed himself had he taken the role of Django, but since he didn't do that, I will do my best to avoid his films from now on.

Not even gonna watch the trailer.

There is still intelligent life on Earth whether humaniod or not and they live in peace and harmony with the beautiful natural earth. Meanwhile the humans live on a dystopic space station or plant.

Wow he was up for that role? That could have been great.

The twist will be the final images of the film showing M. Night pointing and laughing at those who bought tickets....

No that wouldn't have. It would have been awful. Django gets whipped by slave owner. Django responds "I GOTS TO GET ME ONE OF DEES!"

The twist is that, in a tangent reality, Carlton will go to live in a Philadelphia urban setting with Fresh's mom.

Twist: Will Smith is playing the same character from "Independence Day".

Where's that quote from? As harsh as it is, it still feels like an understatement.

I think you mean "I am Legend"...

I think Smith gets a little too much hate. The whole family is kind of annoying, but then would I be trying to help my kids break into the business in every way possible, also? Sure, if managed appropriately, which they seem to do (i.e his kids aren't likely to turn into the next screwed up child actors).

I feel the same about M. Night, too. Granted, I never saw Airbender, but I probably wouldn't if it got good reviews either - not my type of movie. Otherwise, while indeed his movies have gotten progressively worse, they all still manage to h old my attention and only make me realize what a waste of time it is once finally done. That clearly doesn't make him an Oscar winner, and isn't a ringing endorsement, I'm just saying there's a lot of crappy movies out there, many much much worse than his crap.

To that end, I think you have a solid actor, with his ok son playing his actually son, directed by a somewhat below average director, within the sci-fi context, in a well done trailer.

    it looks ok.

Looks awful. 100% CG and Will Smith is trying way too hard to pull of that Morgan Freeman accent. Throw in the kid's acting skills that equate to mine and this movie just looks destined to be a high budget, low quality film.

I just remember that review because I, too, was offended more than anything else after seeing it, and probably even moreso than that reviewer because I was a fan of the show. When the teaser trailer came out I was pumped, and from that point on I was eagerly anticipating the movie and managed to ignore all the signs that it would be total s***. So when I finally saw it in theaters I was so, so disappointed.
