Police are a bunch of cowards that shoot 1st
    and question later.

If a soldier in the armed forces shot 1st
like this. . . he'd be court marshalled.

don't give that crap about what would you do
    etc. . . . it's hostile territory etc.

Their job requirement is Courage , Bravery
and Clear concise thinking under pressure .
. .and honestly most of them just cannot cut
    it.

they freak out and shoot people far to often
    hell . . .

Yeah, when I saw the riots last night, I really feel they are "in the right" here. There is probably more to this story than we know, but it just looks bad. We may not know the full truth as to what happened, or the actual events that transpired, but all signs point to negatives.

I can't say that I'd endorse a riot in any case, but an obnoxious protest is definately called for in this instance, IMO.

Did it occur to the five who were killed that maybe when being arrested you should cooperate with the armed police officers. I am not saying that these people should have been killed, only that they certainly seem to have contributed to their own deaths. I don't see how this action by the police officers merits a riot. The people who rioted should have let the investigations proceed normally, or at least demonstrated non-violently.

    Hydra,

Did it occur to the police who did the killing that maybe when becoming the judge/jury/and execution that maybe the citizens they were protecting might become upset with their actions? When arresting someone you should do so within the law. I am not saying that the rioters should be destroying the property of innocent people. But, the police certainly seem to have contributed to the riots.

Hell, I say, if you're gonna riot, riot against the right people. Riot against City Hall and/or Police Departments.

What did these people do to deserve getting pulled out of their cars and get roughed up?

I'm all for protest, but setting your city on fire seems to put the focus more on the rioters than the actual victims they're rioting for.

    DREAMer,
I agree that the officer(s) should not have killed these 5 people; however, I doubt that they would have killed someone who stood still, put their hands up, and allowed themselves to be arrested like a good little criminal. Did they think the cops were going to just let them go because they decided to run away. Some actions are just stupid things to do, resisting arrest, especially when 4 other people where killed earlier doing it, is one of them.

    River,

When you are black it doesn't matter.

Ask the guy in New York (forgot his name, sadly) who was short repeatedly for holding his wallet. Yeah, it sure looked like a gun.

Or the black person who was shot about 17 times while sitting in his car. He was unarmed. Can't remember where or more details.

I once saw an interview with a woman who was arrested, strip-searched, and held in jail without any rights for way too long because she fit the description of "a black woman with a purse."

Get back in line, son...it is your job to know your place. Still only 3/4ths...

    Hydra,

I thought you would see that your argument is flawed by my first "adjustment" to your statement, but I'll try again....

I agree that the citizen(s) should not have pulled these people out of their cars and beaten them; however, I doubt that they would have beat anyone who wasn't in their vicinity. Did the cops think they could just shoot an unarmed man for running? Some actions are just stupid things to do, shooting unarmed people, choking a man to death, especially when they've already pissed the community off by doing it to 4 other people.

    ---------------------

Someone very close to me was shot by police just because he was running. He was running because he was on probation and he would've gone back to jail if the people he was hanging out with had done something wrong.

He didn't do anything besides sit in the back seat of a car. When the cops pulled them over, everyone else ran (so obviously they had done something), so he ran. As he jumped over a fence to get away (and he almost did get away) he was shot in the knee. He fell, and police continued to fire at him as he laid there on the ground, UNARMED!!!

Luckily, the stupid cops didn't hit their target and he only suffered the one gunshot wound to the knee. But, the bullet is positioned to where surgical removal is not an option, so he has to live with that bullet in his leg the rest of his life.

What right does a police officer have to shoot at people like that? F*cking NONE!

so everyone stopped by kkkops *is* a criminal
    thanks for clearing that up
So kkkops can stop you for whatever reason
they want anytime the feel like f*cking with
you and. . you should just take it. . .

KKKops get to choose who are criminals because
whoever they stop and arrest is OBVIOUSLY
    guilty

and people wonder why we have problems
    with kkkops . . .

Rioting is wrong, that's the bottom line. Leave the rioting to the soccer fans of the world.
Cops are not always right but for citizens to go to non-peaceful demonstations is wrong.
None of us knows the whole story of why the police shot the young man and until I get the details I don't rush into judgement if they were right or wrong, just that taking to the streets to forcifully make a demonstartion is wrong.

    I don't condone or encourage rioting . . yet
in a world where death at the hands of those
you are protesting against over an 'alledged' false move . . . is only moments
    away . . . .

It seems like an unfortunate option for a desperate people.

With attitudes like this, it's a wonder more people aren't shot.

The rioting is going to affect how the public feels about race far more than this incident will. If there's young people out there who haven't quite formed any opinions on race yet, seeing these riots on TV will help them do so pretty quick.

Well . . . if they had not rioted
would anyone know about this killing spree?

kkkops are killing people left right and center
and unless someone riots the cow-mentality
of america doesn't notice [or care] unless it
    is in their backyard.

    If race relation become worse
    but
kkkops stop killing people. . . .i think it
is a trade off I can live with.

lol Pole. It's especially funny because, without knowing you, you can't tell which attitudes you're referring to.

you are right river, let's just get rid of all the cops. [IMG]

I'm not the biggest police supporter, but i realize they have their role in serving society and i accept it, but there are ALWAYS going to be bad ones.

There are many bad laywers, agents, politicians, and Doctors. I'm kinda scared to go to doctors because of all the horror stories that people i know have experienced with them.

oh, and rioting isn't going to help anyone.

There just seems to be a rise in the number of BAD ONES
in fact I'm beginning to think they out number
    the GOOD ONES

The GOOD ONES seem to be behind a desk
    and
The BAD ONES are out killing people

I wonder how white people would react if black cops had murdered 15 white citizens?
