I just got back from Valero where it costs $6.81 for one pack of marlboro lights. Here's what I don't get, all the tax that's being charged for one pack of cigarettes is justifiable because they want people to quit smoking, right? If that's the case, why is it $4.99 per pack when you buy two? Doesn't this encourage people to smoke more? Having said that, I believe it's harder to quit smoking now then it has ever been. I quit several times before (almost two years the first time), and the withdrawal systems were nowhere as great as they are now when I start the day without a cigarette. Having said that, I quit smoking. For all the smokers reading this I wish you the best luck in your pursuit to quit.
Looks like its helping you quit. Good luck man. I was in an elevator yesterday coming into my job's building and a guy who must have taken a cigarette break outside smelled horrible. It smelled like smoke and ass for over 30 floors. Then he started that smokers cough.
Absolutely can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke! All smokers should be moved to a landlocked city and not let out.
I was getting my Lucky Strikes from the Ukraine for like $15.00 a carton and go figure... I forgot I ordered 6 cartons, they arrived yesterday and I officially quit smoking 10 days ago. Awesome.
I was wondering that too, about how much big tobacco makes on the little deal packages over single packs. If it averages out to 4-5 a pack then that can only be like 1$ profit. Since Ive quit (almost 2 years) prices went up 2 bucks but before that in my time that I did smoke (about 4 years) prices only went up 1$. I can't see how it's harder than ever to quit. No more smoking in bars for Houston, and in Sugar Land where you can smoke in bars they're tightening things about where you can smoke outdoors.
Good luck, I quit 3+ yrs ago. 1+ pack/day smoker Its nice being free of those things Allen carrs easy way to quit is a good book for those interested.
I don't know why you guys are complaining about quitting smoking. It's easy. I've done it over a hundred times.
