Come back with a middle distance jumpshot like David West and that starting job is yours for the next 5 seasons!

As much as I get annoyed by Dickie V, he was one of the ones that knew...

I remember before the draft that I kept getting angry at all the frosh and sophs that came out that year... because with every one of the more "athletic" young potentials that submitted their name for the draft, the lower Chuck's chances became to be drafted.

Also interesting... both Chuck and Luther did a workout together for the Knicks before the draft, also at that tryout... David Lee :D

Pretty snazzy that they both ended up together in Houston though :)

No doubt he's an awesome player to have on our team. he is a BIG part of our defense. BUT someone needs to teach him to DUNK! if he starts dunking the ball, he will go far in this league no doubt whatsoever!

I've seen him dunk a few times before, but he seems more keen on shooting layups. I don't know if he has enough hops to jump over people though.

I know you could say this type of thing about any player in the league pretty much but ... imagine Chuck Hayes with a mid-range jumper with consistency and 15-17 foot range.

And if he tried to dunk the ball more than lay it up (which is not necessary always), he would be so beast!

Anyways, Hayes seems like a good guy. He's pretty funny, works hard, tries his best, gives his all every game pretty much. Gotta love him.

And he's from Modesto...that's cool. I'm not too far from there now...

What is this obssesion with dunking? Anyway, the only time I've seen him dunk is when he had a breakaway. Doubt he can jump over people, but if he could get better at layups and make those Juwan like jumpshots, he could be a good all arounf player.

    Weirdest thing this year:

Dukie V trashing the Rockets for trading for the Ultimate Dukie on draft date.

The one time he says something non-homerific about a Dukie, he's wrong. Fact of the matter is, Vitale doesn't really know crap about NBA basketball.

I'm sure Chuck would dunk more if he could. No wait, I'm sure he enjoys getting shots blocked and missing lay ups now and again.

A guy can only do what his body will let him. He's a great player so let's be happy with what we have with Chuck.

I mean the guy can't even shoot FT....and you are expecting him to shoot mid-range jumper?
