I know that, during the '95-'96 season, Chucky played in all 82 games. Did he START all 82? I know the Rockets were decimated by injuries that season, but I find it hard to believe that they had to start Chucky in ALL 82 games. And, by the way, on his stats page in the history section, he's listed as a North Carolina alum. I thought he went to NC State. ------------------

The stat page on nba.com says he started all 82 games. I thought I remembered him coming of the bench part of the season. ------------------
God I love this website. The internet is useless if not for CC.net. Anyway. Colt: Right on -- Good questions, good pickups. Are you baiting me? Consider me caught. Chucky was, of course, star of Jimmy Valvanos late 1980's NC State Wolfpack teams. When asked to list his dream team of college players in 1988, Valvano responded: "Five Chucky Browns." As for the 1995-96 season, Chucky was indeed the only Rocket to start all 82 games. Click my signature below and go to the Fan Club's "teams" section, click Houston, and go to the article by Fran Blinebury on CBrown. It's courtesy of ... well, me. chucky did indeed start al the games. PS -- Fran Blinebury, if you read this site, I better not get grief for reprinting your stuff. Consider it an honor. One point of contention -- and again, you may just be baiting me here, but its all good -- they did not "have" to start Chucky. He totally earned it. Solid D, rebounding, great team guy. They picked up Mark Bryant over the summer to start, he missed the first two games of the season, and never won his job back. Chucky absolutely earned every start that season. Our man hit 54.1% from the field. Clyde fed him for five slam dunks during the first quarter of every game just about. Apparently Chucky pissed off someone in the front office and got jettisonned to Phoenix for that fat three-point specialist (16% 3PG) we got from the Suns. AND if you will kindly notice that Chucky -- yeah, that tweener/journeyman who just set the record for "most teams platyed" and the recipient of so much trash talk over the years -- has started most every place he has gone since. He is picked up as a eighth or ninth guy, and ends up starting. ALWAYS. Atlanta. Milwaukee. Charlotte. San Antonio. Next: the Cavs. If anything, he pisses off the multi-year contract guys -- Derrick Coleman, Vin Baker, Alan Henderson, Malik Rose -- by earning their starting spots. But, since he gets paid the minimum, he is considered dispensable at the end of the season. It's BS. Check the box for tonights Cleveland game. I have not yet, but I bet he started tonight. Seriously, I have not checked but I can pretty much guess he did. He always starts. He has been there two weeks and he will take that job away from C Weatherspooon or whoever, not because they are hurt, but because CBrown hustles his a** off and is a very. very good player. The coaches have no choice. He walks the walk. Damn, I am all worked up. I am gonna go join my own fan club now. PS- Big post tomorrow. I need you guys' help when the Cavs come to Houston. I need some serious cheering for the man. later CBFC ------------------ Join the Chucky Brown Fan Club

A footnote that you may (or may not) want to add to the Chucky Brown karma page ... I lived in L.A. during the '80s and early '90s (& was a Lakers fan, not surprisingly), and I remember that announcer Chick Hearn had much praise for Chucky during his Lakers stint -- specifically saying, "I like Chucky Brown" and complimenting him for his smart play. Hearn hasn't missed a game since (OK, and not for the 25+ years prior, either), and the Lakers soon rebounded from their post-Magic funk to playoff contention and another title. ------------------

CBFC, Wow. Thanx for the info. While I have admired Chucky since his Rockets post season heroics (anybody that could piss of a pre-Rockets Barkley is aces in my book), I must admit that I find it surprising that he startted all 82 games. Shame on me for doubting his talents. I visited the CBFC site yesterday to finally follow up the news that he had set the record. Well done and very informative. Keep up the good work and thanx again for the info. PS Just checked the boxscore. Damn right he started. Ten points and 3 rebounds in 23 minutes. ------------------
