I hope this is not a rash evaluation, though. He should be 100% certain that he's cleared before he attempts to play again.

what, you brought to my mind a team that should take a very serious look at him. He won;t give you the mid-range and scoring off the bench but he would have Memphis covered in everything else.

I think that the grizzlies almost HAVE to go after him. The fact is that, as much as I like Darrell Arthur, he has been injured as much as healthy. If you are the grizzlies, and you are going to run a tight 3 man rotation at forward, you are going to need a guy that is able to stay on the court.

Chuck Hayes fits everything the grizzlies do on the court. We'll see what happens, but I have to think the grizzlies will find a way to make an offer to him.

Agreed but I bet he chooses Houston or Minny with little consideration for Memphis.

i would love to see the chuckwagon back in houston,
but we will have to many bigs with dalembert-hill-thabeet-scola-patterson
if cleared to play do the kings reconstruct his contract or because voided earlier he can sign anywhere allover again

i say we send thabeet back to the dleague again and sign hayes..

    dalembert----hayes---(hill)
    scola-----patterson---(hill)

and we use hill as c and pf depending on matchups.....

thabeet doesnt fit in with these group of guys we need a center that can run the court and dalembert and hayes or hill will provide us with some spped oppose to thabeet.

Houston would've had interest in revisiting a Chuck Hayes deal, but Sam Dalembert signing takes them out of running.

Sacramento still has the most cap space. Are they out of it?

I appreciate your loyalty to Chuck, but I'm glad you're not the gm.

With the Sacramento offer being voided, don't we still have Chuck's bird rights?

Wow if i was chuck i would be pissed. If he was gonna be clear in a couple days why did they haft to void his contract, they should have waited a week first. On the other hand we amnesty thabeet and trade jonny flynn for a draft pick and sign him. :p

He would be a great fit for Memphis. He would make them better in many ways.

For one, in practice, he would puch Zach Randolph to keep getting better. Last season, the matchup between Zack and Chuck was one of the best offense vs. defense matchups I've seen in basketball. Zack would get be more dominant, and Chuck would keep improving his defense.

Plus, Chuck will surprise with his offensive game. He picks his shots very well, and typically surprises his defender with quick moves around the basket. Last season his shooting improved so he actually made some shots as opposed to scoring mostly off layups and tip backs. And the most underappreciated part of his game would be a great help in Memphis, his passing. Chuck is a great passer in the high post. He would help everybody around him in the offense.

I'd be very happy for Chuck if he got to play for a contender in Memphis. I think he would have a positive effect on both the offense and defense when he's on the floor, and Lionel Hollins and his teammates will love playing with him.

Don't the Rockets still have the $2.5 million "mini-mid-level"? Maybe Chuck has much better offers elsewhere (Minnesota) if his heart situation check out?
Perhaps the Rockets can do a S&T for Dalembert and manage to get their actual full-mid-level?

Anyhow, perhaps the issue isn't salary, but minutes. With Scola, Sam, Patterson and Hill already more or less penciled in for regular minutes, there are probably teams that can use Chuck's services more (like Adelman's Wolves team).

IT's possible the contract has to be voided automatically once the physical is failed...

my guess is they'll re-sign him again, the kings. They valued him enough to start him, so why not go after him again?
