So the Rockets have a $2.3 million option to bring back Chuck Hayes next season. That's fair, but Brad Miller is an available free agent for around the same cost. They are two very different players. Who suits the Rockets better?

Please consider the following: (1) height vs. quickness, (2) rebounding vs. shooting and the ability to draw defenders out of the lane, and (3) offense vs. defense.

Tough call.......at this point, give me the Chuck Wagon. Assuming he's healthy.

Also, Hayes is almost 27 while Miller just turned 34.

Chuck. He is one of our family. Really don't want to see him unemployed.

Could'nt we have both? Chuck is quick enough to defend a 4.

Luis Scola, Jordan Hill, and Jarred Jeffries.

Unless you trade Hill or Scola, why keep him to play the four? Hayes is more than sufficient enough to play the center position in the NBA. It's either him or Miller.

    This^^^

Despite Chucks offensive limitations I would love to keep him around, he's a great post defender, hustles every play, and plays with heart. Obviously he's not so great as a starting center because of his height compared to other starting centers but he's a great player to come off the bench and provide some nice lockdown defense when needed. I rest my case... nothing against brad but the chuck wagon is just too awesome to let go :)

I like Chuck's defense and ability to draw charges, but I also like Miller's decent shooting ability. It's a tough call but I'd probably go with Hayes.

Chuck, without a second thought. I've seen Chuck come off the bench and make plays that seal the game in our favor. The only problem is Chuck is good in short spurts, not as a starter or playing long minutes.

Brad is nice as a backup 5 but not at the cost of replacing the Chuck wagon.

You don't replace a guy with such a unique skill set as Hayes (one-on-one post defense, high post passing) with a player (Miller) who has a similar skill set to another player on the team (Andersen).

If Miller is brought in, Andersen is gone, not Hayes.

Andersen is locked up for two more seasons. Miller could mentor Andersen as well.

Hayes is a sentimental favorite; talent wise this is a no contest. I have never seen Hayes as a legitimate starter. A six foot six NBA center; come on people.

Chuck, because I would prefer him as a defensive player over Miller.
Now, if Brad Miller was an offensive threat then I'd probably take him......but Miller is slow and old.

I don't consider Hayes to be a center. He played out of position. He is the best defensive 4 that we have. I would prefer Brad Miller over Andersen if possible.

Chuck, until Yao gets injured. We have to have a real center starting. If we also had Deke of two years ago, Chuck. Otherwise, Miller.
