My wife and I have been looking around for a car. Our range is from 30 - 40 K. We want something pretty nice, and we've looked at lower end BMW's, and Mercedes, but for that price, they are pretty stripped down and honestly, not all that luxurious. We've also looked at a Tahoe, but I'm not sure I want an SUV. Well my best friend's Dad just rolled up the other day in his brand new, 2005 Chrysler 300C. The body style looks like a Bently, the interior was very luxurious, and the 330 HP HEMI threw us back into the seat when he took us for a drive. It had built in GPS navigation, auto transmission that can also be driven like a standard without the clutch (forget what they call this, but pretty cool), 6 disk CD changer, fully adjustable seats, 20 inch wheels, moon roof, leather, and pretty neat looking interior overall. The sticker on it was 36K. I swear this car is twice as nice as a comparable priced BMW 330 or Mercedes. The only issue that I'm 24. Would I be goofy looking driving around in a Chrysler at 24? Any opinions?
down. sounds like a nice car. but if you're only 24, then why do you need moon roof, leather, GPS, etc... old folks like that for their lincolns. i say go for the BMW or Mercedes. they are just nicer cars, Mercedes especially... they never break down. you can always get a loaded one when you have more money later.
I don't think you'd look like a goob driving around in that Chrysler at 24 years-old. To expand on that, though: What do you care what you look like driving around in the car? If you like the car, get it.
wrx sti. there is the problem solved. you can off road then. you wont have gps though so you might get lost out in the wilderness though.
3 Thumbs up......err 2 thumbs up. damn LL..... Anyways, I love that car. It looks so nice. After going the way of buying a cheaper model before and having everything as standard....I am sick of it. For the same money go ahead and get the luxury.
I've driven a decent Mustang GT since high school and it has some get-up-and-go to it, but this car would blow it away on power. It is a large vehicle and I was surprised by the punch it backed when he hit the gas.
I take it you haven't owned a Beamer or Benz the past few decades. Get a Lexus - Luxury and Dependability - IS300 is a nice model. For that kind of money I wouldn't buy any American sedan.
The Road & Track review I read talked about the 300C being quite peppy, noting that it should outrun such cars as the Nissan 350Z, etc (also from the article: "Indeed, its 14.1-sec. clocking at 101.1 mph would make a Porsche Boxster S driver leery about racing for pink slips.")
From that statement... and that statement, I can tell you're out of touch with modern cars. Oh, and as far as the oversized, pimpmobile, extra-large brick on 4 wheels known as the 300C. It's a Chrysler (yes, with Daimler influence), but I'd never buy a Chrysler. Not to mention they gave the thing the engine of a Saturn V rocket (the Hemi) and the handling of a boat anchor.
The 300 C is very clean. Aside from the hemispherical engine the car also has the suspension and transmission of the Mercedes E Class.
really? i guess so. my dad has had a second hand benz for a long time, i think it's maybe 85? and it still runs like a new car. i was thinking about getting a BMW for myself, infact I was looking on line when this thread popped up. you're saying i shouldn't?
Not all Asian cars are good - Daewoo is junk - Hyundia is low - Suzuki is junk - and I'm not that high on Nissians. I was just stating my opinon which remains, I wouldn't spend that much on an American sedan. None are known for their resale or dependabilty.
