Bill White didn't even make the first page of highest salaries.

this is bull crap, i guess its public info but if i was on that list i'd have my lawsuit ready

 

I work for HISD. Dr. Saavedra makes almost half a mil?! I guess I shouldn't complain since the board just approved a 3% raise for us.

 

not cool. If someone has enough determination to go find that information, so be it. But for the love of all that is good, don't put it out there like that!

From the comments it is apparent peopling are mad the Mayor makes 1/2 as much as the HISD Superintendent

 

I used to work for HISD, and I am damn happy I don't anymore. HISD is the bottom rung of the public sector ladder. It takes an act of Congress to get anyone to lift a finger there.

HISD needs to eliminate the 10% of admins at the top. They do nothing, and get paid quite well for doing nothing. If you got rid of them, the place wouldn't skip a beat.

Um, if you choose to work in the public sector, then you should know you're an open book.

I agree with it being that way, nothing should be hidden in the government/public sector (ideally).

 

Is HISD a really rich district? I mean they must have too much money.

 

It's all relative I guess. They have a huge budget, but they also have over 300 schools along with regional offices and the administration building.

 

Twas interesting to see how much my uncle and cousin made.

 

and that's the type of attitude that gets us crap public employees, hope you're satisfied. you can look at total salaries budgeted for a department and you can look at the top officials, anything beyond is overkill

 

It does suck but when you work in a public position ...

 

lol you arent going to win. govt employees work for the taxpayers... people should have every right to look at what these people are getting paid. some of these salaries are pretty ridiculous which is why their public. imagine if it wasn't... better bet they'd be getting paid even more.

 

There's something to be said about restraint in this situation. If they want to do some article about fat cats getting overpaid, point out all the people making 6 figures, misappropriations, etc. Fine. Go for it. Expose the bastards!

But for someone to just take that information about your average Jane and Joe (who did nothing outstanding to warrant the query) and post it on a widely circulated news source.... that's excessive.

hmm it has more to do with there are no consequences no matter how ****ty of a job they do. govt employees never get laid off etc...
