Always ready With Tracy McGrady and Ron Artest back in the Rockets’ rotation, Brent Barry has been largely pushed out. But Barry said he is determined to prepare to play and find a way to help if he doesn’t. “I’m ready to go,” Barry said. “Coach (Rick Adelman) has a job to do and I have a job to stay ready. That’s what it’s about. ..... http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6245511.html Again evidence that Barry's a great guy and we shouldn't be worried, he will get his minutes although I'd like to see RA stick less to a 'fixed' rotation of men he uses. Barry is the best 3pt shooter, so at least give him 10 minutes to drop some bombs, just my 2 cents.
Two threads about Barry in a matter of moments? You're in love. I like BB, but I'd like to see him consistently shoot lights out, and take better advantage of the time he sees. I can't blame a coach for tweaking the PT from time-to-time. That's what they're supposed to do.
Of course he will help. It's just not right now. People expect him to help in the playoffs. He can use the break time to improve his shooting and prepare his body.
I can see Barry getting some minutes against the Grizz tonight, seeing as how it's the second of a back-to-back. You know your team's pretty deep when your 12th and 13th players on the roster are Barry and Mutombo.
Wafer has taken Barry's minutes. Wafer provides the 3 as Barry does, but also provides a driving ability, fast breaking ability, and an athletic defender ability. Kind of hard to put Barry in instead at this point.
Exactly. Even though Barry shoots the 3-ball at a better clip than Wafer, Wafer brings much more to the table (penetration, speed, aggression). However, generally, players like Wafer are great in the regular season when you only see teams once in a while. In the playoffs, I have a feeling we will see a sharp decline in Wafer's effectiveness when the opponent has an opportunity to key in on his skill-set, and really force him to adjust. That is when Barry's experience, and ability to drain shots while being covered, are going to prove handy.
I'm not sure about majority but he should be taking some of those minutes...but then again that'll make 3 pgs to get use to, unless of course you use Tmac at the point while barry is in.
Barry will eventually get his minutes back from Wafer. You can book it. I love Wafer and the mohawk, but will take the proven Barry with T-Mac on the court any day of the week.
I'd like to see Barry get some Alston and Brook's minites. He has good handle, he can make good pass, he can shoot, his bball IQ is higher than both Alston and Brooks.
If his BB IQ is higher than Rafer and Brooks then how much higher would it be over Wafer. Probably off the charts.
