The Rockets should target Greg Monroe, he is clearly the most NBA ready big in the draft. And he has the IQ to play in Rick's offense.

i gotta say, he makes aldrich sound pretty good.

out of the guys that might still be on the board, this was one of the best summaries he gave. the next one that caught my attention was:

two guys that i didn't think the rockets were that high on, turn out to get some of the best summaries.

I still think DM should draft Westside, especially if Hakeem is his mentor. From what I have seen, he has a very good chance of developing into a monster on both ends; an athletic and legit big man with a keen nose for blocking as well as range extending to the 3pt line.

I wouldn't put much stock in anything you read here. From this report I think the Rockets are high on John Wall, Evan Turner, and Hassan Whiteside. Just mostly more Feigen disinformation crap designed to act like he does have a job and is doing some actual reporting during the biggest event of the offseason. Personally I would rather read Rocket Guy's crap than Feigen.

    he only mentions positives.

that couldn't possibly be the total picture.

Why would he give an honest assessment and let other teams know who we like? I wouldn't be surprised if the people he liked the most there were ones he thought were overvalued and was attempting to misdirect people and the people he was least glowing about the Rockets actually coveted most.

well they didn't mention any weaknesses, but you can tell the difference between saying patterson is a "solid defender" and aldrich is an "elite defensive big."

search for the word elite. he used it only 8 times out of 20 players. those players were:
    aldrich
    cousins
    favors
    henry
    monroe
    turner
    wall
    whiteside

out of those 8 players, 5 of them should be gone in the first 6 picks. so he's pretty much on target with who is elite. the remaining players are:
    aldrich
    henry
    whiteside

plus it's the night before the draft and i love to speculate so i'm gonna think those are the top 8 guys on the rockets board.

Actually if you highlight all the players with "elite qualities", in our range you end up with:

    Cole Aldrich
    Xavier Henry
    Hassan Whiteside
    Greg Monroe

^If we end up with one of those players then we all know the Rox brass dropped hints in this article. I'm actually ok with any of these four, I certainly prefer them over yet another SF (Babitt, Paul George) when we alredy have Battier, Ariza and C-bud in the lineup. Even if we trade Battier, we still have two above average players in the SF position.

Solid deductive reasoning, smoothie. This was the only nugget in this thread worth carrying away.

Exactly. Elliot williams worked out twice for Rockets staff and the second they had to fly out to him to take a look. Anyone who thinks the Rockets aren't at least a little interested in this kid are fooling themselves. Yet he is nowhere in the group. Yeah Maybe Elliot is more of a below 20 second pick but he is definitely someone the rockets have an interest in. Why not report that as opposed to John Wall who the Rockets will never get and would take a 10 page article to really describe this kids attributes. Just more BS reporting by Feigen. He writes what they tell him to write and acts like he's reporting. I would just as soon he take the summer off and just report the game summaries during the season.

Yeah I hear you... I am here every 5 minutes hoping to find some inside scoop or big trade that went down. I can't wait for tomorrow night to begin.

Everytime I see any of the pre-draft "info," I am reminded of the following scene:

    <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SL4c9gCRSKY&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SL4c9gCRSKY&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Yeah, I just got back from a trip that was cut short, but I was busy checking the BBS, squinting at my iPhone, as often as I could. Agree about Williams.
