could be but reading from the article, I don't expect to see him there unless there is a SF injury and people like Jeffries are not available...

"Patrick the last couple days has really stepped it up," Adelman said. "He really needs to be at the four spot. He's a smart player."

Patterson said he enjoyed his days as a small forward, even if he is more effective when playing his position.

Yeah. It just sort of helps because of the current shortage at the position.

I don't see it happening IMO, but if we play big I understand

Yeah, that was a weird article. The headline says he could play the 3 and the article goes on to explain that he's terrible at it. Maybe if half the team dies in a horrific plane crash, he'll play the 3.

I don't take the article that way at all. What I gather from it, PP can play the three, but offensively he needs to be in the high post instead of trying to play Robert Horry on the perimeter. The article says nothing about how PP plays defense against opposing SFs. It's nice to know that having PP at the SF slot when other teams go big is an option. With that said, I'd rather rely on our mainstays at that position.

So, smart players go to the four spot, those who play the other sports are dumbasses?

Asking Patterson to play SF would be like asking Lamar Odom to play SF. The difference is Odom is 1-2 inches taller and 2-3x more lackadaisical than Patterson.

SF are usually the most athletic guys on the court. For one reason or another, the most athletic guy in the room rarely is the most intelligent guy in the room. It is what it is.

This further proves that we match up well with the defending champs. :)

The only reason this is news is because the Chronicle requires Feign to write something to justify the expense of sending him to training camp. Same goes with the article on Hill and Scola too. Chances of real news coming out is pretty slim, IMO.

Patrick Patterson only has to be quick enough to GUARD the opposing team's SF. This is why I would be interested in getting Anthony Randolph. Stay in front of the shooter, be quick enough on PNRs to get back or rotate. Having a PF with abilities like that can create mismatches.

He'd have to quicken up. Work on his foot work and yeah, He could become a Ron Artest type of SF.

Thats who he sorta reminds me of, but lateral quickness is something that you either have or you don't. Right?
