Fun and games -- Rockets down Grizzlies 85-76

When they finally shook themselves out of the second quarter doldrums and got their heads back into the game, the Rockets made beating the Grizzlies look more than easy. They made it look fun.

It was more than just Yao Ming rolling to 28 pints and 8 rebounds, more than Tracy McGrady putting up another Magic-line of 19 points, 13 assists and 5 rebounds.

It was smooth, fluid basketball that is a joy to watch and play.

"They were all great shots," Yao said. "You cannot find anything better than that, deep in the paint, under the basket. All I had do was not (even) jump, just put my hands up and put the ball into the hoop. T-Mac did a great job on that."

On McGrady's behind-the back feed on the break:

    "That was sweet," Yao said.

Do they need to work on that lob pass that T-Mac tried to throw and Yao just missed in the first half?

"He forgets that I'm not Stromile (Swift). I only jump this (holds his fingers an inch apart) high," Yao said laughing. "I play on the ground, not in the air."

"That's playing with chemistry. It's really fun basketball. First of all, we had a successful defense tonight and a lot of transition scores. But with those points, it's not just a job for us. At that moment, it is something very fun. Like playing a video game or something."

The Rockets are 9-4 with one more game on Tuesday night against Minnesota to close out the Cupcake Row homestand. They're taking care of business.

Gotta love this quote from Yao: On McGrady's behind-the back feed on the break:

    "That was sweet," Yao said.

Was Yao talking about that missed Ally-Oops dunk? Swift sure could dunk that one with ease. :D

Video game??? Looks like Yao is addicted to it. :p
Glad to see our players enjoy the game rather than just take it as a work.

Chemistry comes with wins (and practice, of course). Everyone is happy with the win, even us the fans.

    Tmac with 13 assists.... wow

in my eyes... that is better than 2 points...each time...

anyone can put up 30 points a game... just give them 25 shots...

but can you pull a steve nash... and put up 10 assists a game...

Yaozamac, there's no achievement in being first to post in any other thread than the official game threads.

But I cant deny the accuracy of your statement - you certainly were first.

Was TMac's behind the back pass on ESPN's Top 10?

    on a random note

why's aussie rocket still a rookie with nearly 50000 posts?

it's quantity, not quality that determines status.
