Yao listed day-to-day with bone bruise in right foot

Rockets center Yao Ming was listed as day-to-day with a bone bruise in his right foot following additional X-rays and a CAT scan Saturday.

Rockets athletic trainer Keith Jones said Yao would be evaluated further at Sunday’s practice.

Yao has experienced soreness in the foot during games Tuesday and Thursday, but was not limited in any way. When it had not improved by Friday, he was held out of Friday’s game following his pregame warmup.

If we can somehow manage to win games and get Yao some rest to get ready for the post season, that would be awesome.

Signing Deke was one of the best moves Morey made this season.

With our med staff just watch that bruise become a concussion, torn achilles tendon, and appendicitis. :p

That was what I was thinking. It's not just "bruise" like some other poster is so relief about. This is not devastating, but not good either.

Didn't they say it was a bone bruise last year and it ended up being a stress fracture?

Don't know that, but the CT Scan would have shown more extensive damage if there was anything more than a bone bruise.

Easy there sally. If anything happens to him I should get banned for making a joke?

I think you should get banned for having a non-Rockets moniker.

u know a "knee bruise" caused tracy to have surgery right?
and the same "knee bruise" caused landry to miss like an eternity last yr.

a bruise hurts my friend. hopefully it's a VERY minor bruise for yao. we need the big guy.

i think yao just has problems with his foot. bone bruises can be very painful (and can take MONTHS to fully heal if you take great care and don't injure it anymore--hence tmac and landry took a ton of time off last yr for their knee bruises). they're caused by some type of movements/falls. i guess he bruised it when he fell sometime recently.

A ****ing bone bruise? Wow... Great NEWS!

Next thing you know, before Game 1, he'll be out for the season...

Soreness ---> Bone Bruise ---> Broken Metatarsal

    Just watch.
