http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/other/3014483 High-stepping Yao joins all-star cast on Simpsons For the second time in his brief career in the United States, Rockets center Yao Ming will be part of Super Bowl Sunday. Two years ago, Yao starred in a Visa ad that also featured Yogi Berra. This time, his animated counterpart will have a role in "Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass," an episode of The Simpsons that will follow the Patriots-Eagles game on Fox on Feb. 6. The cartoon Yao joins Warren Sapp, Tom Brady, LeBron James and Michelle Kwan at Homer Simpson's Show Boating Academy, where Homer helps them choreograph their respective victory dances. Homer's success prompts the NFL to hire him to produce the Super Bowl halftime show. Homer enlists the help of neighbor Ned Flanders, and things go downhill rapidly from there. Yao told the network he was glad to assist in the episode "as long as I don't look like a monster." Haha...wonder if Yao did his own voice and what kind of dance and showboating he will do. Hopefully someone will tape it and torrent it or something.
its funny that they have yao in the "showboating" academy but everyone else on that list inst a showboat either. I guess they are making fun of showboating?
I hope they use his own voice... there was another cartoon that had him on but I'm not sure if they used his voice or not definitely gonna tune in!
I'm pretty sure they used his own voice. The Simpsons always have the actual person do the guest voices
you got it. why would showboaters need to go to showboating acadamy? does kobe really need tips on showboating? yao on the other hand could use some help.
Tom Brady and Yao are two guys don't showboat a lot. Yao needs to do more of those yell after a monster jam, maybe learn a few things from Mt. Mutumbo.
Bah. Family Guy is much more creative and funny than the Simpsons ever were. The Simpsons were good for about 2-3 seasons and then it just went downhill with slapstick and played out cliches. Futurama is another good cartoon and it's from Matt Groening also.
If it werent for the Simpsons , there would be no Family Guy, Futurama (obviously), Southpark, King of the Hill, etc. b****es...
Look, the Simpsons WAS a great show. I grew up with it, and I used to watch probably an average of one show every day for 10 years or so. Unfortunately, it stopped being funny almost half a decade ago. They changed writers, and completely changed the style of comedy. Now they just go to a different country every week and use a bunch of stereotypes. Everyone involved in the show seems to have mailed it in a long time ago. The voice actors would have quit already if they weren't getting an enormous amount of cash thrown at them. I watched last night's episode and laughed one time. The show has become an abomination.
Unfortunately I'm in Singapore right now where I don't think they'll be showing the Simpsons after the Superbowl. Dayamm that looks hilarious. Oh well just have to catch it in reruns.
The simpsons used to be my favorite show. That is until I started watching Family Guy. I can't wait till the new season.
Actually they had a Michael Jackson impersonator in one of the episodes from one of the first three seasons. Remember the big white guy from the mental institution that thought he was Michael Jackson.
