Chron:Rockets hold team option on Vin Baker for next season

Sorry if this was already posted, but did anyone else catch this in the chronicle. Rockets hold a 3.85 mill. option for next season. Vin said he'd like to be back, loves it here, yea, I bet!

In the words of Jay-Z, CD "your a genius".

Now to see if we can get out of Ward's and Norris' contract.

ummm, its a player option, so its Baker decision if he wants to be a free agent or not, which he will stay cause who wouldnt want to be the 13/14th man and get paid 3.85 mil?

According to the following site, it also say player option.

Baker should option out so he can become a free agent and land a better contract.

Totally. A big man with his calibur in his prime is worth way more than the MLE.

Vin, if you opt out, I think the Cavs will sign a 6 years $ 52 millions contract with you. They need a big man. Plus, you would love to play with Lebron, right?

Not even Mullen or I. Thomas are crazy to give Baker another contract. Actually i take that back, knowing Isiah I bet he welcomes Baker back with open arms. After all he is a soft PF and fits in with basically every other PF the team has.

Who wants to bet the Rockets and Baker agree on some sort of a buyout if he agrees not to pick up that option year?

what's in it for baker? i can't imagine he could get more than the minimum anywhere so he'd have to get close to his contract in the buyout just to break even. i'm sure he'd like to get at least 3.85 out of the whole deal since i can't imagine he's expecting much playing time anywhere.

personally, since it's not my money, i'd rather just hold on to the contract for trade bait around the deadline or even in the offseason if we're lucky.
