This blows, imo. 51 has a weak signal, though not as bad as Ch 55. At the same time I can't blame WB and UPN either. No word on the status of talks with Fox Sports Net, but, as you may recall, the sides dickered until the afternoon of the regular-season opener before agreeing on their last contract in 1997.
Ch. 51 is not too bad. I agree that its better than the Tube but I have cable and sometimes barley get good signals on some games. All I have to say is that they better televise ALL of the Preseason games. Anything to watch them play any sooner.
Does this mean no more Lisa Malosky at the half, you know, since John Granato does all the pre and post game stuff on channel 51? Then again, Lisa could stay on board because Granato will be busy with the morning show and the Texans.
Damn this does suck. I didn't even know we had a damn channel 51 in Houston. I'd rather the games come on a well known network with a good reception.
UPN should've atleast given the Rockets one more shot. The ratings would've likely increased with the addition of Yao to the team.
Channel 20 probably received tremendous pressure from the folks at UPN due to the number of times that UPN programming was preempted last season.
Oh well, I can't pick up any of them in Austin, so it sucks regardless. Be grateful...some of us aren't as fortunate to even pick up a weak-signaled game.

That has nothing to do with it. The Rockets hire their on air people. Malosky is still on the broadcast team from what I've heard. os
I just sent the following email to the Rockets letting them know how displeased I am, about this Ch. 51 crap. I just caught wind to the notion of The Rockets hammering out a TV deal with KNWS. This, pardon my tone, SUX. I have Dish Network, which does not broadcast Ch. 51. Last year you went with KTUB first and KHTX which are both on the Dish Network lineup. KNWS is not. Plez do not go with KNWS as your broadcast station. Oh by the way, I have bought a Mobley 12 pak. I have been an avid fan since 81, please help. If anyone else is a little upset just email them and maybe with enough complaints they will negotiate with someone else. I sent my email to -'fanear@rocketball.com' I need Tim's email address. Channel 51 is gay! i hate channel 51.. It looks all ghetto and stuff i can see the channel pretty well but the details of this channel is plain sorry! its all blurry and stuff no0o0o0o this is gaayyy UPN should make a deal with the Rockets... the only shows that Rockets may delay would be Smackdown and some other shows.. I rather watch the ROCKETS.. man... boooooooo wheres that email..
