For the first time in the preseason, Tracy McGrady went through a second consecutive day of workouts without sitting out any part of the practice, a development that he said indicates he has “turned the corner” in his comeback from offseason knee surgery.

McGrady had said Saturday he was not sure if he would be ready for the season opener Oct. 29. Monday he said “it’s still up in the air,” but added he plans to play in the preseason finale Thursday.

“Feel all right — two days of full practices for the first time in a long time,” McGrady said. “No swelling, so that’s a good sign. Today was a little bit of a tough day because of all the work I put in (Sunday), but I feel pretty good. I was able to get through practice.

“I’m going to try to push myself through to the limit. Before, when I thought I felt good, I wasn’t able to come back the next day. Today, I went through all the drills, got up and down. It responded. My leg, it was a little sore and a little heavy, but I was able to get through it, so I definitely turned the corner.”
    Touches needed for Yao

As much as Rockets practices have sought to emphasize improving defensively and in running a fast break, Monday’s workout offered a reminder that the team must stress its half-court offense and the need to get Yao Ming touches.

“We know what we want to do offensively,” Rockets coach Rick Adelman said. “We have to make sure we get Yao as involved as we can. He’s still pushing through things, too. We’ve got a lot of work to do in the next week.”
    Sick call

Forward Luis Scola was sent home from Monday’s practice because of a head cold, and guard Steve Francis missed a third consecutive day with a cold. Center Joey Dorsey was excused from practice to attend to personal business in Memphis.

Nice to hear some positive news health wise about Tmac. Lets hope this cold does not spread too much to the other players.

I'm not expecting this team to ever have a full set of healthy player. I honestly think there is a health curse on us. :(

Yao's germ is spreading. Yao hang out with Steve and passed on to him ....then he hanged out Scola...at Texan game and passed it right to him. Notice Yao is feeling better....cuz he's spreading away.

    Huh? Bash Tracy?

I only bash Tracy when he's whining, puts his foot in his mouth, shoots ill advised jumper from the parking lot, doesn't drive to the basket, or does a disappearing act. That's only half of the time. The rest of the time he's O.k. ;)

When Someone says something like this, I think Double Negative. I really dont catch it right away, is it just me or is it a pain when someone says something like this. There are more that way more annoying, especially when taking an exam.

Hahaha...why do they even bother reporting news on this guy anymore? He is already phoning in sick THREE consecutive days and he isn't even part of the team. Very amusing. :D

i do agree with adelman that we need to get yao more touches. with so many offensive options out there, i want to see how teams guard him now. and i want to see if he can shoot 57-58% if he's guarded 1-on-1 most of the time. if he does, we just have to milk it.

At least it's not T-Mac's back again. If Yao doesn't get hurt, he should have a monster year.

We've had a lot of problems with passing the ball to Yao through the preseason. I kinda agree with you, but I belive Adelman said that just to cut those turnovers and don't let it happen in the season. Another big reason is Yao's shape. Of course last game he looked better but I don't think he it at his best, yet.

But now this team can simply play every style. The most important thing is to establish Yao inside, because McGrady, Ron can score against any defenses
