Just read this on the Chronicle's website. This really sucks. I guess we can add left tackle to the list of needs for the Texans in the draft.

To add a tinge of optimism to this subject, because of his drive and motivation to get back as Kailee was, "he has such a better chance to overcome this and return to the field, hopefully in time for the regular season."

Yes the uniqueness of the injury casts a pall somewhat on his recovery to get back on the gridiron for next season but, his attitude and the fight he's showing gives him better odds. Lets hope for the best! :)

I'll give 610 credit on this one, they broke this yesterday morning but didn't make a big deal out of it. I think it was on John McClain's show. it was funny, he was talking about spencer possibly being done at 10AM, then on the 790 show at 12PM they were talking about spencer being one of the building blocks.

John McClain has been saying before yesterday that Spencer would be back and likely playing RT next year. I believe it was Lance Zierline that kept bringing up that Spencer may be done for good a few months ago.

actually, if you've ever listened to kubiak's weekly show, he's danced around this nearly all year - they've known for quite awhile something serious was up with spencer.

Joe Staley out of Central Michigan looks like the highest potential project OL of the draft. He measures better than anyone. His size and speed are perfect for zone-blocking. He might be around when the Texans pick in the second round.

Well, considering he was projected more as our RT of the future anyways... we still always planned on finding a LT. Nothing will change with that.

Now, instead of finding just one book-end tackle, we have to find two... it sucks, but its entirely necessary if this franchise wants to find any sort of consistency.

so if spencer is going to be a RT, is Winston going to move down to guard?

That was the long-term plan. Winston is undersized as a tackle... and it showed in most of the games he played there.

I thought that Spencer was slated as the LT all along.

Kubiak and Rick Smith both said that they saw him more of a natural RT, if he came back from injury. The only reason he was playing LT was because this team had no depth there... unless you think Ephram Salaam and Seth Wand would be contending for starting jobs at that position on any other team besides the Texans.

They could have solved it a LOOONG time ago... but trading multiple picks for guys like Jason Babin, and Phillip Buchannon will set any team back, regardless of their needs.

During the Rose Bowl they claim Baker was staying at USC for his senior season.
