The Texans are one of the teams interested in Cincinnati tight end Matt Schobel, the Columbus native who played at TCU. An unrestricted free agent who should be one of the hottest prospects at his position, Schobel is expcted to meet with the Texans on Monday. Buffalo and Minnesota also are interested in him.

The only tight end I want is Captain Gangster. Sergeant Winslow.

We dont need another Billy Miller, a player that automatically gives the defense the tip that we are passing.

We need a tight end that can be used in both the passing and running game.

Me too, but he'll be gone by our 2nd pick.

Unless in some way of a miracle we get picks in a trade, you're right.

Trading down to the 6-8 range and taking Davis seems like a very reasonable move to me. Get a guy to open up the offense as much as anyone and a boatload of other picks this year and next.

IMO, if you're going to trade down, the guy that needs to be targeted is Mario Williams. Yes, D'Brick and Davis are nice, but this draft is deep at both OT and TE, and we could take both with our second round picks (Winston and Byrd for example). This draft doesn't have a lot of great pass rushers, so taking Williams in the first is our best option.

    1. DE Mario Williams
    2. OT Eric Winston
    2. TE Dominic Bird
    3. CB Jonathon Joseph
    3. C Greg Esliniger

Agreed. Besides the obvious (VY/Bush), I really wanted D'Brick but have recently changed to Mario. The guy is a beast in the Julius Peppers mold, a pass rushing DE is the biggest need IMO.

As for V. Davis, he would definitely be worth a high pick but if we were to pick at between #4-#6, I don't think you could pass up on Mario. V. Davis is going to be very good though, I don't think there are DBs big enough to cover him and I don't think there are any LBs fast enough to stay with him. Word is that he can lineup at WR no problem, and w/ his 4.38 40, I believe it.

But like you said, guys like Winston, Byrd, and M. Lewis will most likely be there in the 2nd Round.

imo, they should be eyeing a te with the 2nd round pick.

There are a lot of great te prospects this year, and unless Schobel comes cheap, it'd be better to go with one of the draftees.

And if it came down to Mario vs VD, I'd probly go with VD if it weren't for how many good TEs are in this draft. As great as Mario's combine was, Vernon's was even more eye-popping, imo.

    trade down.
