Don't really like his articles but he made some good points. The team has trouble finishing games, even with large leads like this game. We still have trouble getting Yao the ball. To be fair, part of the problem is Yao getting position. Still though, no excuses. Yao had 3 very good looks and didn't cash it in. To sum it up, we need our guys to play with gigantic balls. Maybe the return of T-Mac makes it easy on everyone else and they'll play their game. Get healthy T-Mac, get healthy Steve. We could really use those guys in crunch time situations like last night.

Since we could be beaten by 76ers,well then we can beat Spurs.
The result of last night prove that nothing is impossible!

But to overreact like that, start calling for the lottery, C'mon anybody that knows the NBA knows we are not out at all, The problem when they are wrong they never, never accept they talked a bunch of crap before, and that he was wrong.

I wish they all do the same as Barkley and kiss some ass when they been wrong.

When young Olajuwon (Before he was label as a Goat) was out with a injury and the Rocket did pretty without him well a lot of this guys started question is Dream was the answer and if Houston should trade him. After he won those championship they all started riding on his nuts.

Remember all this reporters calling Morey a Rookie for picking AB in the offseason, and now they all praising Brooks.

    Is Just a game.
How with 20-18 you have a chance to make the playoff but 20-19 you are completely out??????

He is just a idiot that over blow the situation and take advantage of a bad lose the get attention to him self because he knows after a few games nobody will remember his column.

The Rockets sure as hell aren't lottery-bound.

But my God, what a difference. We all came in predecting 60-win seasons. Hell, Hollinger had us WINNING the friggin champinship. There's still time to right the ship, but wow, from that 6-1 start and all the hype, to be sub .500 right now really sucks.

Blinebury's comment are very good. Rockets is currently playing like they are ready to head to the Lottery. I have been a die hard fan since 86 and I know that we used to have that heart of the champion when we won those back-to back championship even we only had one super star (Dream). Now we have two super star and good supporting cast there is no excuse now to build the lead on game and keep it. Killer Instinct that word just keep repeating all over again and again and nobody could build it for you except yourself.

I fully expected to see you telling Blinebury and Feigen they had "knee-jerk" [your words] blogs after one unimportant L, but now I see that you have no core beliefs and just 7000+ nasty posts on this board.

You are pretty clueless. No "core beliefs" about the Rockets and "7000+ nasty" posts? Try reading the forum on a regular basis. Try checking the NBA forum where I strongly suggested over 3 weeks ago the Rox will not make the playoffs. When it comes to being critical of Adelman, Tracy and the team in general, I've been very clear. When it comes to praising them and others, I give them props too when it's deserved.

Lastly I repeat: Get a clue before you make another dumb comment. Also know that when you create a thread with a dumb opening post, a bunch of people will call you out next time too. "Knee-jerk" threads are fine if they fit the moment, make sense and say something original. Try it next time you start one.

Oh, and you are calling me nasty, Mr. Nice Guy? I bet you scared those posters off.
    Now, back to the topic.

I am down on the Rockets but damn it is too soon to call it quits on the season. If the team is not in striking distance by the end of February then I would see not making the playoffs this year. The TEAM must show some pride and come out swinging. Like Rudy T would say "When you are backup against the wall you have to come out swinging".

people do understand sarcasm mean right?

If any of you were watching the game, you would probably feel the same way the author did. Certainly i felt it. How can you expect Rox to be in the playoffs when they blow a lead on a lowly seeded eastern conference team, who loss 7 games straight, and plus playing back to back?

with or without tmac the last two games were a must and should be an easy win for us. The problem that I saw in the last two games and throughout our season thus far was our guards.

none of our guards can pass inside to yao during 4th quarter. whenever we play against better PG like miller or chris paul, we have trouble.

realistically, if we play the way we played so far we would end up with a record of around 42-40. still think we can get in the playoffs in a tough westerner conference.

ok ok, even if we made it into the playoffs, we would be facing the top 1 to 3 seed, still think we can beat them? another first round exit?

It isn't just closing out games, it's closing out quarters. Not just the fourth quarter either.

At the end of the 2nd quarter we failed to score and gave Iguodala an uncontested 3. Five point turnaround.

And we do that sort of thing all the time. Sickening.

Sorry, but this article is pretty spot-on. What, is T-Mac gonna come back and lead with his heart, get the team to rally?

You wanna keep settling for a middling team? Because that's what we have. And Les won't acknowledge it because he needs TMac to help sell tickets in that shiny new-ish arena.

It isn't just the guards, it's the coach who puts in the wrong players at the wrong time two games in row and apparently can't see what everyone else can see. We should be 22-17. Instead we are 20-19 and both losses can be laid on Adelman's doorstep. I won't go back and list games, but at least 3-4 more can be put squarely on Adelman's refusal to change things in time. Even with the dysfunction of the players, the Rockets should be at least 25-14. The problem is we have a clueless coach with incomprehensible playing rotations. If we miss the playoffs by less than 5 games...

Regarding passing the ball to Yao in the 4th quarter, it isn't all on the guards, except for maybe Luther who shouldn't have even been in the game. When the defense basically tells you that Yao will not be allowed the ball unless you use up nearly all 24 seconds trying to get it to him, the Rockets MUST look another way. The "pound it in to Yao at all costs" strategy late in 4th quarters is a failure. Plain and simple. The Rockets need to run their normal offense and get the ball to Yao in the flow of things instead of turning the 4 other players into easy to guard statues who won't move. This is also know as bailing out the defense. This predictability kills the offense entirely. The other guys on the court must be a threat in some way or another.

I strongly believed we lost the game when we lost the 10pts lead at the start of 4th. After that, they just looked shocked and dumbfounded and could not recovered. Even Yao is influenced with the loss of the 10pts lead and after that everyone was playing shaky and edgy. Adleman must sit these three players who make unprecedented errors at the start of any the 4th, namely Rafer, AB and Head.
