Now some classic quotes:

"It's all good. I'm not looking back. It's just the preseason," he said. "If it were the regular season, I'd be down in the dumps. But it's the preseason. I'm going to be there when it counts. You can trust that."

"If I was a rookie, I'd be way behind," he said. "I'm a vet. I've been doing this for years. All I have to do is get on the court, they roll the ball out there and I'm going to know how to play. I'm not tripping about it. I'm going to be fine. It's just basketball. By the end of the day, all those plays will be out the window; we'll run four or five of them, get the ball to Yao (Ming), play off Yao, get the ball to Mac (Tracy McGrady)." :p

"I'm excited to get back on the court. I haven't played since the playoffs last year. I'm excited to get back out, get back to work and earn a paycheck. I got a ways to go personally. I'm going to get there. I understand how to play the game. And I understand what my job is, just play off those two All-Stars. It's basically easy." :D

Life is simple.

Don't worry everyone - everyone knows wells is wacko. But it's cool....we'll let him be wacko ala Rodman.

Wells has been around the least and saying how he thinks the team's gonna be run. Assuming that coaches will abandon game planning and it will then become easy at the end. Cuz they granted him time off I guess he feels they'll keep it easy for him. And why at the end of the day, why not the beginning and middle of the day gameplanning counting as well? Azubuike and Haryasz got cut and still have more time on the team than this guy. That's like Battier saying Yao and Tmac will guard the best interior and perimeter player, and I'll just play between them and it'll be easy...

And if he's a vet, why is he counting on there being plays thrown 'out the window'? A true vet should know pretty much know all the ins and outs and should be ready for whatever the coach throws at him. I'm predicting he meshes in a little at the beginning, blends into a role on as the season goes on, then turns it on strong at the end of the year like last year to attract buyers again. As long as it helps the team advance I'll take it, i guess...

Wells is not mentally ok....you're expecting a handicap man to act like a normal guy! It ain't going to happen.

But the man can play. And that's what JVG is going to do - just put him in a position to help the team. Don't worry - he'll be fine. JVG handled sprewell just fine...he has a history of dealing with tormented souls ok.

But don't analyze Bonzi - just accept he's wacko...and it's ok to have one wacko on your team.

I'm sure he'll be a spark plug from the bench.

you're spending too much time analyzing him. when it gets down to it he's basically correct, the idea is to get the ball to yao and tracy.

Isn't JVG supposed to have a really complex playbook, and run one of the most complicated defenses in the association? I seriously doubt JVG wants them to know only 5 plays.

imo, the most interesting thing in that article was Feigan saying JVG is trying to get him ready to play Power Forward, as well as SG and SF.

very very int...terest...ting.

Rofl! those quotes are priceless. Well he's not known for being politically correct...What's funny is that he doesn't think he will be behind. How in the world are you going to not fall behind in a new system...

He will want to be at his best behavior this contract year, although his best behavior may not be that good.
Next year he will be gone regardless. We should give opportunities for our younger players to shine.
