I was hoping T-Will could benefit from a couple extra practices...

Oh well, I guess we're talking about practice.

Competent starting centers aren't being moved around as freely as undersized combo guards? This is very big news!

Hmm. Denver was very close to a deal this week....Jeffries was very close to being dealt this week....looks like we were involving him in the Nets/Nugs 3-way.

Considering our TEs don't top $6.4M...I'm fine eating a contract of that size to bring back a center. Tougher to do so if we're shipping Shane + Jeffries+more to bring back a killer contract like Brand.

They will have one on Sunday and then tuesday. That should help. Maybe by Next Friday he can get a few minutes.

Other teams GMs don't overrate Rockets players like clutch fans here. AB/CBud's stock going way down.

Landry trade was a good one, sold high.

Yeah, that's the reason why Bud is still seeing playing time and Brooks will be back as a starter in the hopes they get hot and trade them while they are. As of right now, they are both close to being worthless. Well, Brooks does have some value.

There are hardly that many GOOD centers to begin with. Most are just PFs pretending to be Centers.

I say we stick with our current troop of PFs that play the position, because short of trading, Martin or Scola + a draft pick, we won't get anyone worth a damn.

Maybe a deal was about to go down, but Carmelo's personal tragedy (I believe his sister passed away?) cut it short.

Of course, any Jared J./Melo/2team/3team deal might have fallen through before Melo's sister passed.

Any deal for Melo will obviously have to wait until Melo returns and he communicates with his team that he's ready to play again or will, yes, go ahead and accept that trade to (whatever team).

How about Brooks, Jefferies, Bud for Nazr, Livingston and 1 first rounder?
We get a PG with size, ability to play multiple spots, and athleticism. Nazr is an expiring and a decent center on both sides. And a first rounder since we are giving more talent then getting. And our rotation mess would be cleared up! They would get a talented pg in brooks, another young prospect to play, and the versatile JJ.

    Lowry/Livingston/Ish/Lee
    Martin/Lee/Williams/Livingston
    Battier/Williams/Livingston
    Scola/Hill/Patterson
    Nazr/Miller/Hayes/Hill

I saw Jeffries on the bench in a suit and figured such but is there a link to confirm?

No, they're not...not even close. Front office execs aren't that short-sighted and hot/cold streaks have very little to do with trade value.

Bud's extended slump is certainly a concern but he's not worthless.

How about trade for Camby, with Brandon Roy being the "lousy contract"?

    Hmmm ....

I think Camby would be a nice possibility, but I doubt the Blazers are quite yet prepared to "salary dump" Brandon Roy.

The problem with getting Camby, though, is that the Blazers are not at all desperate to cut salary (what, with all of Paul Allen's billions backing the team and all), so the Rockets would actually have to expend REAL assets to get something of value out of Portland. Expiring contracts and trade exceptions likely won't be enough.

Roy can play point guard. That would be something if we ended up with Roy/Camby. Roy with bummed knees is still better then any other possible asset we could get. And i see him as a great trade chip.
