    Alston drives an Aston Martin.

That's kind of funny to me.

It's also sad because driving one of those clearly makes him a target.

Good Info! Blood shot eyes and breath smelling like alcohol. No telling what issues he may be going through or what is on his mind... or he could have just wanted to get drunk.

If you'd been drinking (and I have no idea if Rafer was "over the legal limit" - he could be innocent) and didn't have someone to drive for you, you would be nuts to take the chance. You can always fix a dent in your car, or replace the damn thing. I don't care if the wheels cost a couple of hundred grand or not. Lose your license or worse, cause an accident? Believe me, you'd be kicking yourself for not calling for a taxi, just as Rafer is right now.

Well, that and driving at night with your lights off and weaving makes you a target too.

oh hell no I never go drinking without a DD in place.

but i am sure Rafer's mentality before heading out was like...should I drive my fly car or call a cab?

    Silly statement.

Unless the Aston Martin comes with Auto-pilot which takes you home safely, I don't see how it would help when you have been drinking.

So what are his chances of actually having to serve jail time? Will he be able to get out of it?

And once he got his fly car there at the club, he certainly didn't want to leave it in the parking lot and take a cab home.

I wanna know where his woman is... why isn't she picking him up?

Seriously, isn't that like in the girlfriend code?

At some point the Rockets have to realize that this is an ongoing issue and Rafer needs some sort of discipline from the team immediately.

Zero. First of all, it's a misdemeanor, so even if he's convicted, he won't go to jail. Second, Rafer hired Rusty Hardin, who has successfully helped high-profile sports figures like Rudy T, Calvin Murphy, Steve Francis, and Eddie Griffin get out of similar charges. Hardin is a famous guy and he's a powerful player in Texas courtrooms. It's likely that charges will either be dropped or Rafer will be acquitted.

As for calling a cad, yeah, that would have been smart. But nobody's going to leave their brand-new Aston-Martin on WASHINGTON overnight. It ain't THAT gentrified. He should have taken a cab to the bar, but then cabs won't quite get you laid the way an A-M will. Rafer may have been targeted, but that's exactly why he should have somebody drive him around. You'd think he'd have learned this lesson by now after the b.s. he went through last summer.

    Rafer got Rusty Hardin?

Rusty Hardin can get a you off a murder beef, much less a DWI. Rafer will get a slap on the wrist, the real question is, "Will the Rockets suspend him for 2 games?"

That would put a damper on opening night.
