Playing gives McGrady a mental lift http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6776537.html Lock if it's been posted again.
I would assume that NBA players play not only for cash money but also because they enjoy playing, otherwise they would never have made it to the NBA. After a horrible and injury plagued season, going through a surgery where he does not know if it would end his career, and then going through a third of this season without seeing a second on the court, of course playing 16 lousy minutes in 2 games is going to be a mental lift. This is one of those typical brain dead chronicle articles where readers go "Duh?"
To me, it's likely that Tracy has suffered through chronic depression through parts of his career. Obviously, when you feel healthy, your mental state is going to be that much better. I hope he can put all of his energy into continuing to improve.
Athletes run on confidence. Once an athletes loses confidence in their body it takes a toll on their spirit, heart, mind. Good luck T-mac! It will all come in time. I expect a good looking McGrady after the All-star break.
It was a joke, clearly he was not talking about physical appearance. Yep, was right about him too...love him as an announcer though........ Recognizing things far earlier than the average fan can be a curse.... DD
Good luck for t-mac,I know this guy has beared too pressure,he was once recognized as the most talented player in the whole league, and this is why he left toronto and vince carter ,after transferd to magic ,he developed into a leader of a team, unfortunately he was injury-prone,and metally weak.which led too much discontent from the fans. I am very happy to see him run on the court again, but some advice needs to be given .since u are not the #1 option in this team right now, please try to learn how to be a role player,at least active attitude should be shown.i am not asking for too much.just try to maintain the chemistry, and keep the game rhythm, don't grab the ball in hands too much time.
...for the first time in his career. if a injury of this magnitude is what it takes for mcgrady to get a "lift" after this many seasons, he can "lift" his arse to another team and be up"lifting" there. or is this a motay kinda lift? edit: sorry... i gotta take antisonic's side on this.
