It could be good news. T-mac takes his time to get full recovery. Rox needs to keep up the way they have been playing. Friday should be a W against Timberwolves, but it's gona be a real test against Hornets Sunday. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/5445713.html Jan. 10, 2008, 11:49PM ROCKETS SUMMARY By JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2008 Houston Chronicle Conditioning an issue The Rockets pushed back Tracy McGrady's workout test of his various knee injuries until today, with McGrady not expected to return to the court until next week. McGrady has been out for the past eight games. He has played just one full game since Dec. 15, making his conditioning nearly as much of an issue as his knee. "The hardest thing is when you're playing this game and you have a setback like I had; I have an injury that limits me from running," McGrady said. "I can't get in shape. It's going to take me awhile to get in shape, and I still am not going to be in the shape I need to be to be that effective on the basketball court. "It's going to take me awhile to get where I need to be. I came into camp and the start of the season great. I have a setback that will probably set me back awhile. I'm not worried. I know if I'm feeling good I can push through the fatigue. If I'm injured, it's going to limit me to do what I have to." The Rockets did not practice and are not scheduled for their next full practice until Monday. Yao's ankle OK Rockets center Yao Ming turned his right ankle late in Wednesday's game against the Knicks, but after receiving some postgame treatment, it is not expected to be any problem tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves. All-Star update The last All-Star balloting update looked very much like the others, with Rockets Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady on pace to start the All-Star Game, Feb. 17 in New Orleans despite McGrady's injury. Kobe Bryant leads the guards, with Tim Duncan and Carmelo Anthony leading the forwards. In the East, Kevin Garnett is the top vote-getter, ahead of LeBron James. Dwyane Wade and Jason Kidd lead the guards. Dwight Howard leads the centers.
It's good. 1. As said, he may receive a complete recovery. 2. See how far and good we will be going w/o T-mac. Bad News: We wont have him back for another week. F****
Im tired of listening to this ****, Im gonna wait until Matt Bullard and Bill Worrell announce on whats with McGrady's injury.
This season, with T-Mac out of the lineup, there has been so much debate on this board as to whether his return would be helpful for the team, or should the team trade him away. All of this debate would not even be going on now if the team was still losing all the time without him like the past few seasons, which were under JVG. Nor would all of this debate be going on if the team's offense was looking more fluid without him in the lineup like what we were seeing with him in the lineup earlier this season. I do think that we've seen the Rockets play their best basketball they have ever played without T-Mac in the lineup since acquiring him from the Orlando Magic in that trade. A thread I have thought of starting concerning T-Mac is does he seem to remind some people of Ralph Sampson in this manner, which is, takes too much time at recovering from injuries?
Good! heal what ever need to be dealed, then come back like a real NBA all star player. Tmac makes the right decision.
I think the best time for TMac to come back is the following game after a loss, so that he doesn't need to worry about his fitting in the current motion offense.
Its funny how when our own GM says something regarding TMAC (his injuries, and trade discussions) it gets missed by most, and only has 3 pages.....but in come BS trade rumors, and 300 replies.....
Well, this gives us more time to see if this T-Mac less team can actually win against solid teams. Oh, never mind, the only good team up is the Hornets. We should beat Sixers and T-Wolves, both teams that TRADED away their superstars and have nothing to show. Also, two guys who are arguably better than T-Mac. Still want to trade T-Mac? He'll probably be back against the Spurs which is perfect timing. I want to see how we stack up against the Champs. We already got them once this year.
McGrady is taking his sweet time because he is still pouting. I have never seen someone sit out this much time over bangging knees with someone. He said the Doc doesnt know how I feel so it is up to me. That tells you that the doc has already cleared him and he is just enjoying his time off. Are you really that out of shape after missing a couple of weeks? The Rockets need to dump this quiter for som hard working bulls.
No, but if it was Tmac he would be out a month and then he would be dragging his leg up the court like he was a war hero.
