looks like they will recind the technical he got the other night in Chicago. :) They need to fire people like Ken Mauer that doesn't respect the rules.

    THis is awesome

What a party pooper that Mauer guy. He always has problems with players because he thinks he's too good

He's the cockiest, most arrogant referee I have even seen

    They should fire him

It's a good rule the way it's written. This Mauer guy, by his logic, could tech a guy up for doing that bird gesture to get the home crowd on their feet. Interactioin with the fans keeps the NBA alive. Good decision.

any human who laughs from the very deepest pit of the soul like Deke does can pretty much get away with anything he wants.

Isn't he a great human being?

Sometimes we get caught up in wins and losses, but we have some of the best character guys in the NBA. We should be proud of that.

From our humble superstars to Deke and Shane and Luther Rafer and everybody

I was doing PBP or color when this happened in chat, and i remember screaming my head off typing stuff like: Ken Mauer is directly contradicting David Stern's order. Cause I remember in an interview that Stern said Deke is his guy and he can do anything as long as he doesn't wag the finger at another player. Mauer is just a A-hole.

and all along... I thought when Deke stood up and waved his finger out into the crowd .. I thought he was pointing to me.. since I was the only one standing in my section waving the finger... find out later through sport center.. he was just showing Ken Mauer he was waving to the crowd... when he got his technical.

All my Chicago friends were trippin when that happened.. they were like wth?

    lol!

i sure would like to see a follow up with what the league does to Ken Mauer.

it wasnt only the tech. it was also his extremely arrogant with his animated mocking facial expressions and smacking of his gum.

i know refs sometimes want to have their character imprint on the game...especially whe youre going for that cultish greaser 50s hoosier look, but come the heck on! ken mauer knew what the settled law was on mutumbo's finger wag and took it upon himself to become vigilante radical ref.

Didn't this Ken guy get convicted on three counts of tax evasion and one count of obstruction of justice? Shouldn't he be considered felony? Why is he still in NBA's employment?

    To DEKE:

Next time you block a shot and this idiot ref Ken Mauer is officiating, PLEASE do lick your finger and wag it toward him.

And wipe it on his greasy hair. :D

I hate the Ref's period... if only they call games fair on both sides... but often you have the rookie and star factors in a game...

    good going Deke
