Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Round Rock-based Dell will provide desktops, notebooks and servers for the NBA and WNBA. The computers will record in real-time more than 250,000 points, 117,000 rebounds, and more than 50,000 assists over the course of one year, Dell said today. The information will be immediately provided to NBA.com, WNBA.com, the leagues' 45 team Web sites, NBA TV and thousands of media outlets around the world. NBA referees also will use 65 Dell notebooks to review video of their calls post-game on a regular and continuing basis throughout the season. In return, Dell gets to advertise during nationally televised NBA games and on the league's Web site. "Delivering the technology to capture NBA and WNBA game statistics is an exciting project for Dell, and we look forward to working with them to help provide these statistics to the basketball fans who follow them so closely," said Joe Marengi, senior vice president for Dell Americas.
