http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/2963366 Rockets Summary More deals to come? With the acquisition Thursday of Jon Barry expected to help the Rockets but not necessarily solve their problems, coach Jeff Van Gundy said he wouldn't be surprised if more deals happen. "You can't expect management to be patient," Van Gundy said. "If I was the owner, if I was Carroll ( Dawson, Rockets general manager), to think what they've seen from our team so far that there'll be no more changes — I think they'll continue to change and look for possible ways to improve our team, as they should." Van Gundy emphasized Tyronn Lue was not considered the problem. That said, a shooting guard would allow Van Gundy to keep two guards on the court more often. Point guards Charlie Ward and Bob Sura are playing with sore knees, and depth in the backcourt has suffered, particularly with Jim Jackson, Tracy McGrady and Bostjan Nachbar better suited to defending small forwards. "I don't think there is any doubt we need changes," Van Gundy said. "This group has had more than enough time to start competing to a higher level. We have not responded well."
CD please get us a tough rebounding power forward (Nene or chandler). That is all i want for Christmas.
the last line about "we have not rebounded well" is nice. but there is no way that we trade for a PF while we still have the ones we have. i have to think that mo or juwon along with boki will be next. but finding a taker for mo or juwon can take 'till the deadline or more.
got that right lol regardless, I sure hope we at least TRY to call up a few teams, maybe offer them a few million just to think about it
money in the mattress les needs to finally open his wallet and use the team's trade exception. he owes it to the fans after this horrible start to the season.
I found it interesting that Lue was on the IL for a few weeks, all of a sudden was activated and played in a couple games, and then was quickly traded. I wonder if Boki is next seeing as how he was just activated out of the blue after being on the IL for weeks. Of course this could all be coincidence, but there have been alot of strange roster moves the last month or so to make one wonder. Plus, all the constant statements of "we have too much depth to get everyone minutes" seems like a spin the organization is putting on the situation to kind of make other teams think that is the only reason some guys aren't playing.
Boki is gone. I'm pretty sure he's going to an high tempo team like the Suns or Denver. I think Denver is the likely team since they need some depth in their backcourt especially if Carmello tries his hand at the SG position. Man. If Boki goes, I want that guy to go on to be a great player. I never wish ill will upon ex-Rockets.
If the players already have their grumblings about Van Grumpy, they should LOOOOOOOVE playing for him now that they know anyone of them not named T-Mac or Yao could be shipped off at any time.......well, I wish, anyway.
I hope Boki isn't gone. If VG can find playing time for Ward, he can find playing time for Boki. Also Howard is a good role player, I would keep him. I think we would have a winning season to this point if Sura was health at the beginning of the season. The person I would get rid of is Ewing. We need some one to teach Yao how to play Center in the NBA. Walton would be a better choice!!!! All Ewing can do is teach Yao how to get free serve at a strip club.
JVG would rather send Boki/Gaines/Barret/Taylor for Davis/Pike. We would be a helluva "veteran" team. Sura + Tmac + JJ + Davis + Yao Ward + Barry + Pike + Howard + Mutomobo
Yeah. For our new symbol at TC games, we could hold up canes. Not candy canes or sugar canes or hurri-canes -- just canes.
With the quamire state of our team, it would like take a third team to pull out a deal for somelike Nene, Chandler or PJ Brown. I hear the Bulls are not interested in moving Chandler rather Curry. Denver rate Nene too high. The Hornets are rebuilding and they would want draft picks and expiring contracts. It is going to be tough to pull anymore trades from here on out but it will be interesting to see how CD and JVG pull a miracle out of all of this. I still believe....
