    T-Mac to get MRI

When they do get back, however, McGrady did not expect to be ready to join them.

He felt a sharp pain after a late first-half dunk, then left the game early in the second half.

"I'm going to get an MRI to see what the problem is," said McGrady, who had previously said he did not want the test. "I got to get one (today). I was trying to hold off. (Sunday) made me realize it could be a lot worse. It was a different type of pain (Sunday). I don't see myself playing in the next game (Dec. 28 in Memphis.)"

    WTF...

How can it be a player's decision if he wants to get a MRI or not?

What is with Houston medical staffs? Both the Texans and Rockets are incompetent.

Hope to god it turns out that it is just a bruise. He was moving well tonight until the injury...hopefully nothing serious.

Werd. Last thing the Rockets need right now is for T-Mac to be out for an extended period of time.

Well look at the bright side, we can look forward to getting a lottery pick again and this time trading it for Udonis Haslem.

We can never have enough hustle guys that are b/w 6'8 - 6'9 with a +/- '1 error.

I agree. There was no excuse for him not to get an MRI. I still don't understand why he didn't want one.

Also, could we come up with any more excuses? I want to vomit after reading Adelman's quotes. I hate to say it, but JVG would have never said any of that.

He is neither the GM nor owner, how could he decide on this?

Well, a bone bruise takes a while to heal, could be months before it's really back to normal...and really the only thing is rest. It's possible now he has a hairline fracture with it. But really, he shouldn't have been playing, especially on a back-to-back.

Folks here challenge his manhood and say he's not being tough enough, and now he could be hurt worse. That's why you don't muck around with things like knee injuries and you play it safe unless you are in the finals.

I don't think this is disasterous.

I absolutely cannot believe they didn't make him go in for that MRI -- this is inexcusable.

A 20 million dollar a year franchise player refusing to get an MRI because he was scared of what it would reveal ... i'm speechless.

My guess is that he will be fine. TMac always likes to exaggerate his injury somewhat. I don't think that Rockets staff was that stupid to let him play, if he had something like a hairline crack. Whatever happended that re-aggravated his knee had no way to cause a hairline crack at the Piston's game tonight. I also don't think that he could have dunked that ball if he already had a hairline crack before this game.

He just needs to rest for a while, and that should be it.

All we can hope for is for Mcgrady to be well enough for the season. Let this be a better season for the Rockets. Ya i'm praying!

We're on the brink of disaster. If this MRI reveals something even remotely serious we're no longer in the "give it time" mentality. We would be in major "damage control" mode. Needless to say let's hope it doesn't come to that.
