[Chron] Martin Vents Over Playing Time

Good, he should be pissed that he hasn't played in the fourth.

 

I'm sure Martin will be playing in the 4th quarter during the regular season, Rick isn't stupid.

This is the preseason so he is just trying out different rotations in the 4th.

I'm glad he's mad about it. Anybody associated with the Rockets should be mad with that decision.

 

Great to hear him say that. We need him to be consistently aggressive. Better defensive effort is also critical for success.

If he needs to refine his last minute skills, he should be in the 4th. It is preparation for the season isnt it?

Ask Tmac how it worked out when he skipped preseason. Martin needs to get used to being in at the 4th quarter agian. it has a lot to do with being in basketball shape. its one thing to score in the first three quarters, but its another one to score in the 4th

 

The Rockets don't even pay the mortgage on their home. They just get tax payers to foot the bill!

In a way Im glad this happened. Defense wins championships but a lack of scoring gives up leads.

When your up 8 in the last 2 minutes of a game you dont have to make stops you just have to keep scoring so they don't close the gap.


On thing that irked me was late in the 4th neither Chase or Martin where in the lineup.

That in my opinion was a huge mistake. One or the other has to be on the floor to hit open shots or make moves of screens.

They tried to put Lee in that role but he is not consistent enough on the offensive end to be counted on in crunch time.

Also Martin was abusing Terry and getting to the line when ever he wanted.

With Yao out they need to step up their backcourt d, which means sitting Martin, so i'm not sure he'll get that PT back, at least not in full. Looks like they're giving him the ultimate green light when he's in there, since they know his minutes may be limited. They'll get starter's numbers from him in just over 20 mins.

 

Lots of potential contributors on this team. Rick wants to take a look at all of them. If this team is going to have an 8 man rotation, there are gonna be some quality players who arent gonna play.
