At least he is sucking it up and on the field. It will be nice to what he can do next season when his plant foot isn't all $*(#*$(#*$ up.

He started to really dominate i think it was soon after that when he became injured. He still is very dominant. Teams double up on him and change thier whole gameplans for him, as even NE said. Him healthy next season and hopefully a good FA pickup to help take the pressure off him should lead to a breakout season.

People are saying he isnt first pick quality, just wait till next season.

The game where I quit questioning whether Mario deserved a high pick or not was the Jets game. His stats weren't great, but he manhandled D'Brickashaw Ferguson the entire game.

I think it was the Giants game a few weeks before.

There was a series where he was a manman. Inhuman. A freak.

There was just no stopping him. I think by the end of next year, we will be able to make a fair conclusion.

Mario is gonna be a badass, he does not even turn 22 till late next month.

I still think they screwed up passing on VY but still I predict by this time next year nobody will be calling Mario a bust.

Does anyone realize that if he gets a mere 2 sacks against the Browns he will tie the all-time rookie sack record for a DE... held by Bruce Smith?

He ain't that bad ya'll. When he's healthy he'll be a force to be reckoned with.

Let's hope he can get to 100% by next September. ;)

Now that Ryans.... He is the everlovin' MAN!

VY & Bush are tearing up the league. Meanwhile MW is averaging 3 tackles a game.

Good job on draft day Texans!

By the way, I find it quite ironic after so many people questioned Reggie Bush's ability to stay healthy in the NFL, that MW is the only one out of the top 3 purported to be injured.

    Mario Williams has 4.5 sacks.

Jevon Kearse holds the rookie record at 14.5 Dwight Freeney is 2nd at 13.

defensive ends do not make a lot of tackles. he should be getting more pressure, and when he's healthy he probably will, but he will never be a big tackle guy. that's what linebackers are for.

Not to mention Mark Anderson has 12 this season. What the heck was that guy thinking?

Maybe his foot is the reason he has been a non-factor this season. He may be a solid player in the future, but since he will be compared to Reggie and Vince, he will always be regarded as a bust.

I'd still rather have Mario than Vince. Vince will never be more mobile than he is this season. So his running element will do nothing but weaken over time. Mario on the other hand, stands to improve over time. Trying to assess the pick after a mere one season is flawed thinking.

because mario's gonna be more athletic than he is now?

who has the most improvement in front of them in a career, a defensive end or a quarterback

Yes, as Mario was injured for most of the season.

Vince without his wheels is not even an NFL player.

some of you guys are like those last japanese soldiers who don't know WWII is over. the argument about vince's legitimacy as an nfl qb is over. vince young is passing over 60% already. his last game he had a 127 passer rating. he finished the last regular college season first in rating. but yeah, he's just a runner. you keep crying yourself to sleep with that thought.

Considering that his injury has limited his mobility for at least part of this season, he still isn't that experienced football-wise AND he hasn't hit the age of "peak physical stature" for another year or two (he IS only 21), it's entirely possible that he will grow athletically for the next year or two.

At this point you have to say we should have taken Vince or Bush over Mario. Or even Leinart or Cutler. It's not that Mario has been so bad, it's that those guys have been suprisingly good, especially the QBs.

look I'm rooting for mario but even if you believe mario is gonna be a better athlete, vince's isn't gonna decline to the point where he isn't effective.
