Didn't see this posted, probably because it was only a footnote of a larger article.

    Landry fined

The NBA fined the Rockets and forward Carl Landry because Landry stood up in front of the Rockets bench during recent games. Landry, who said he was fined $10,000 and the team was fined $20,000, said he had heard about the rule change requiring players to sit during games in the preseason but not since and had not received any warning.

“It’s frustrating because it’s a lot of money that’s been lost,” Landry said.

Wow- I would appeal that....the players get more warning if they are caught hitting the bong.

This pisses me off to no end.

The NBA takes money from legitimately good character guys for stupid, frivolous crap, and does NOTHING to address issues of any relevance.

Has Cleveland's bench been fined? I definitely saw damn near their whole team standing up when Wade n Bron was going at it for a stretch in the first half this week.

the team was probably warned before

I remember right there was a AP/Yahoo article about 2 weeks ago saying that two teams were fined over the standing rule while two more were warned about it.

I am going to guess the Rockets were one of the two teams that were warned earlier.

I think it's absurd. We actually have guys who are involved in the game and rooting for their teammates, and they're being punished. This is the absolute last thing the NBA should be cracking down on

Good point but they'll never dare to fine LeBron, whether he is standing up or whether him and his teammates are dancing.

Joakim Noah (and countless others) stand on every freaking basket their team makes. This is bull****.

i hope landry's bobblehead doll gets stuck in stern's ass forcing him to have emergency rectal surgery and then the right hand of the doll breaks off during said removal and remains in there by accident with the middle finger sticking up until he croaks

Landry does stand up a lot, sometimes for long periods, so it's not surprising.

That said, it's still really, really, REALLY, REALLY lame.

Bronbron can even cut his nasty fingernails on the bench, never mind his tired kin-n-play antics. This is worse than "superstar calls."
