overall good read. hope wafer keeps improving, he's been great so far. i was among the many that wanted strawberry over wafer but im sure glad the rockets made the right choice.
resigning wafer should be a high priority for the rockets when the offseason comes around.. but of course we gotta resign artest first!

Yeah, impossible for a SPORTS writer to know baseball AND basketball, that would require some sort of PHD....LOL.

BTW, whether you like him or not he is right on the money here.

Just awesome. Great to hear stuff like this...

It would be great if he just went off on the Lakers in the WCF...

I dont dislike him but recent articles he wrote were just confusing. Like he didn't know what he was talking about.

I wonder what would happen if he actually breaks out in the playoffs.

Would he resign with us or jump ship somewhere else? Scary....

Everytime Von Wafer comes out to play I get excited watching the game. I just want him to score 30.

Wafer does not impress me as much as he has impressed others; he'll always be the "King of Garbage Minutes" to me unless he drops 30 on a legit starter filled team.

Von has improved from the end of last season to now as much as any player in the league and deserves the Most Improved Player award.

I like Wafer.. although I do recognize his strengths and weaknesses.
I recently heard DM say that Von had a 1% chance of making the roster at the beginning of this year and look at him now.
No matter which way you look at it you gotta be proud that we have a guy that has worked so hard to get where he is.

Props to Wafer. Lets just hope he doesn't bite the hand that fed him in the end... Although when its all said and done it is still a business.

I like to think that postseason success will do wonders for resigning Artest and Wafer. The team has a GREAT core that can only get better regardless of what Tracy does (or if we move his contract for some extra guns!). I'm the optimist as far as Wafer goes.

Rockets fans have been so deprived of athletic scoring minded types over the years that they are in shock. Wafer is solid. But teams have had guys like Wafer at the 7th man for years. Golden State alone employs 10 of them.

True. We used to have Azubuike. He just never got off the bench cause of Van Gundy's unwillingness to play the youngsters. Talented, maybe just as explosive as Wafer.

Yeah, nothing special, we have tons of SG/SFs that can stop and pop, and shoot the 3 ball and get to the rack and finish with authority.

Meanwhile all shooting 45% overall and 40% on his 3s, the NBA is littered with those guys.

    Oh wait...no it isn't.
