I love Harris as a hard working guy. But with his size and limited game, it will be hard for him to stay in NBA.

There was only one 6'6 power forward that's successful in NBA. He's Sir Charles, who ran like a freight train, jumped like a kangeroo, and had a behind that's twice the size of Harris.

He's 6'6 with shoes, right? Still a little short, but not bad for a wing player. He'd be great as a rebounding wing, like what Bonzi was supposed to be.

His rebounding efficiency last season was much higher than Landry's. 3.2 in 9.4mins is unbelievable.

Mike Harris please stay. I've always been a fan of your hustle and you deserve to be on this team. I hope the higher-ups take notice of you and sign you for another year or more. :D

Mike James, Chuck Hayes, Mike Harris, etc. Rockets LOVE un-drafted players. I hope this type of articles are not Rockets' slick attempts to prepare fans for non-action down the road: "look, at least we have these adorable, hardworking guys with their feel-good life experience".

    I am half joking.

Yes, Green is gone, but we have added Greene, Dorsey, and Barry to our roster, so I don't think he necessarily has a "good" shot at making the roster. But Morey has said that he isn't done yet, so who knows.

Rockets still need someone behind Battier at the 3 to play some D. It's not going t o be Barry, Head, Novak, or Greene.

Actually Barry can play the 3, Morey even called him a point forward for us. And as long as both Tracy and Battier aren't on the bench at the same time, one of them will be playing the 3 while Barry is the shooting guard.

hooroo's question is whether Barry can defend at the 3. He can't IMO. That won't matter much because Barry will be a backup 2 most of the time and will pass as well as shoot from there or at the 1 spot while going up against weaker PG's on defense. Morey can spin things whatever way he likes but Barry can't play as a point forward anymore.

i'd like to see it panning out because i really like mike but i'm highly skeptical. we're talking about an undersized hustle player with lots of strength and athleticism. mike, from what i've seen, isn't very quick laterally nor a very skilled player. i just can't imagine him getting a solid jump shot, solid ball handling and his body ready to play the 3. that's a lot to work on over one summer. heck, most nba players won't get significantly better at all the things over their whole career (if you take my hero ryan bowen for example. i'm pretty sure he was told to work on his jump shot and his ball handling as well before every summer in order to make some roster. he's also one of the hardest workers in the nba, but yet, he's still the same player he always was. so you see, it isn't that easy.). maybe if he was a different kind of player with more basics. it'll be incredibly hard. our crowded roster and our cap being near the luxury tax limit won't make the task easier.

he probably has one chance: he has to show in the summer league that he really has gotten better in the main areas he had to improve. if he can do that there might be a chance that we do a small trade (something like luther head for a trade exception and a 2nd round pick) to open up a roster spot for him. otherwise he's a sure goner.

He's gonna have a tough time making the team. Doesn't look good, especially if Deke takes up a roster spot.
