"We talked. I don't want to be in any confrontation with anybody. If he decides to play me, I know I'm 1,000 percent ready even though I haven't run in about nine days besides on a treadmill." http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/5267158.html well... from the sound of it you are not ready, Stevie...
Please quote the whole section. He is saying he hasn't gotten a chance to play. BTW, you get in shape by running on the treadmill.
wow... good way to make stevie look bad. you forgot one sentence. just one. at least he wasn't bonzi of last year. who said on national tv, that he didn't came here to run on tread mill. francis says, he wants to be with the rockets and contribute. so he's doing everything coach A is telling him too.
You'd think guys bad knees would try to save themselves by doing laps in the pool or running on grass.
But Steve is contradicting himself. You can't say, in the same interview, that "I want it to work out, definitely, I definitely want it to work here" and then talk about how you're skipping workouts and not staying in shape. If you want it to work for you, you have to work for it.
Tell that to Bonzi Wells. The best way to get into game shape is to play in actual games. Hey but at least he is running on the treadmill and not being a cancer like everyone said he would be.
When did he or anyone else say he was skipping work outs? Stop trying to find drama where there isn't any. Geez, you Francis haters analyze every single little thing he does in hopes to discredit him any chance you get.
I don't have a problem with what he said, but rather than say "what I'll do is wait" I'd prefer hearing him say "I'm going to bust my rear and make sure he's got no choice but to give me PT" Steve sounds like he's just going to do what he's been doing, no more, and hang around until Rafer or Mike get hurt. Evan
I know I'm dreaming, but it would have been nice if SF said he knew where Adelman was coming from or at least said he knew what he needed to do to get on the court. He acts as if everything regarding his playing time is on Adelman when most of it is on SF himself.
If Bonzi had made this statement, everyone would be ready to ship him out. Yet Steve says it and its "taken out of context." I got tired of making excuses for this guy 5 years ago...
I hope it works out for Steve, if Rafer continues to struggle, I would not mind Francis replacing him as the starter and leave James coming off the bench. DD
I never understood people feeling the need turn something into "Francis supporters or Yao supporters". It's stupid.
But Bonzi didn't make the statement, and nobody cares if you got tired of "making excuses for this guy 5 years ago". Clearly you don't like Francis, so there's nothing Francis can do to make you happy, so that's the end of that. People shouldn't have jumped down Bonzi's throat about, and the same goes for Francis. The problem is, nobody can ever be happy about situations, so you will find someone who hates Bonzi and will trash him and someone that hates Francis and will trash him, etc., etc.
That's not true. A treadmill helps, but it also can hurt your knees. You get into shape by playing full practices and playing in games.
