I thought Feigan generally never posts anything new. Aren't his articles basically feel-good pieces set up by the Rockets?

It's Feigen and I'm not a fan. But I thought this was interesting: "The acquisition of Martin was called their big, game-changing deal, and Martin has promised Yao that he will have an "elite" two-guard again."

That doesn't sound like Kevin Martin, but I don't think Feigen would embellish anything.

I'm glad Martin understands what a difference Yao will have on his game, but it's very interesting the word "elite" was quoted.

I don't want to start anything here, because I'm not sure Yao really made T-Mac better, but Kevin's skillset offensively is more specific and Yao's impact could be quite dramatic to his game.

I'm surprised to read though. We traded for Martin (it wasn't his choice) and most of what he has said is about his happiness being reunited with Adelman.

For better or worse this training camp is going to be Yao-centric. I can see Budinger driving to the lane and hitting a brick wall because suddenly 2 guys are on him because Yao's on the other block.

And I can also see Martin licking his chops, and forcing 2 or 3 guys to foul him. He stops very well.

If AB could do that he'd be an all-pro, but let's hope Martin will. And I really want to see Martin make or fake a post-entry pass.

To me that's the most intriguing about the team as it stands.

only impact i can see is tmac didn't have to work his a$$ off for 48 min. he took rest when plays were for yao.

the huge difference btw tamc and martin is that martin likes moving around, making cuts, and setting screen for others. tmac was one of audiance if plays were not for him. just based on this, plus, martin has a quick first step. it helps to design lethal combo plays btw martin and yao. fronting yao defense has been very effective. to overcome this defense, the player who is going to pass the ball to yao needs to have a first quick step to dust off his defender and faces the fronting yao defender. if yao can prepare very well, he can block his defender and let the baseline open for martin to attack the rim. with his attacking mode, martin will have more than one option to work on. he can draw fronting yao defender to him and get yao wide open for passing, or he can psss the ball to the weak side rox player, such as scola, if the weakside defender cheats in to cut the passing lane to yao.

yao should have larger impact on martin than tmac. yao is a team player. he likes to pass the ball to his teammates when chances are popped up.

"I can confirm the reports that he (Carmelo Anthony) is interested in the Rockets, among others."

If the rockets were to trade for Anthony what pieces do you think have to go for sure?

(I can't claim any would be for sure, but I would think Kevin Martin would be most likely to be included in such a deal. It would likely also take a young prospect, a draft pick, or both, along with a veteran to make the money work. -- Jonathan)

    Hmm?

Would you prefer a lineup of

    Brooks/Martin/Battier/Scola/Yao

    or

    Brooks/Lee/Carmelo/Scola/Yao

Feigen is decent. Everytime I read his blogs, it feels like he knows something, but cant/wont say it.

Notice he said he is interested in the Rockets not that the Rockets are interested in him.

yeah but The Mouthpiece has never and will never ever show the hand of our Front Office (except for strategic disinformation of course)

in fact he denied the rockets' interest in artest the entire summer up until our trade for him

feigen's 'reporting' is absolutely useless as far as gaining any true insight into the team

that being said, i am less and less enthusiastic about wanting a trade for melo and would now probably be against it

I know Feigen is embedded, just slightly less than Friedman, and he never breaks a story.

The lack of competition at the newspapers make them more glorified PR pieces now.

And congratulations on coming around about Melo, the smart ones always do.

    ;)

i was never in the melo camp to begin with, but was kind of ambivalent either way depending on what we had to give up to get him......really wish we could have gotten collison (plus posey poison contract) out of the ariza trade instead of lee.....i think that was a mistake and unlike you i'm not convinced AB (or lowry) should be our starting PG.......so i guess i'm not so smart in your book now anymore am i
