The Rockets’ injury ambiguity continued, even with their return to relatively good health.

While Rockets forward Ron Artest told a website on Tuesday that he might sit out until after the All-Star break, his agent said after speaking with Artest and Rockets trainer Keith Jones that Artest’s sore right ankle might not put him out at all.

"He’s just sore," David Bauman, Artest’s agent said. "I don’t know how much or if any time at all will be missed. I can tell you based on everyone I talked to today, he’s sore, he’s doing his treatment today, he’s taking it one day at a time and there hasn’t been any conversation about shutting it down.

"Ron is very frustrated about not being able to penetrate and do the things he can go. To my knowledge, was not as sore or as badly swollen as it was. I think he was venting a little bit."

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said he would not comment.

Artest told CBS.com, "I think (sitting out is) something that probably the trainers and coaches will think about. They pretty much told me that when I get better, whenever I feel right, that I would pretty much get the OK. They know I want to play, so it’s not a thing where they're saying, 'Hurry back, get ready.' I thought I was ready to come back for the long haul. I guess we got one victory out of it."

I was hoping that we were finally over this. Coach Adelman must be ripping out hairs from his toupee with all this nonsense.

OK, I'm ready to trade Artest for a Hinrich or the like. Enough is enough this season.

Both Artest and McGrady should stop talking to the media.

Ron and Tracy never were ready to comeback. They only came back because the Rockets gave them a timetable. Well that is how I see it.

I don't get why these guys keep coming back if they are not healthy or unhappy with their mobility.

Time to make a move before the chemistry in the locker room is completely destroyed.

This stuff with ron and tracy is all mental. When he lights it up against detroit everything is all good. He has a bad game last night against the knicks and everything is all bad. From one extreme to the other

    These dudes are serious headcases

    Solid name.

He looked hell bent on winning the game by playing 1 on 5 and when he couldn't it was easier for him to blame the ankle than to take responsibility for how he killed the offense. I think he was looking to get some quotes in the media to combat all the "he's a ball hog" comments that he knew were coming.

He played the same way against Detroit. The only difference is his jumpshots were falling.

Competition brought them back as well. They see how von and brent were playing and they want some of the limelight especially ron going back to his hometown New york. He plays a bad game in his hometown and he's all crazy now and hurt. He's venting because he was embarrassed by his poor performance

you really think they care about the "limelight" von and barry got? what are they? 2 yr olds?

tracy coming back got all the attention moreso than anything wafer did nationally. so i doubt they care about "taking back the limelight" from those guys.

tracy feels he's ready to go so he's ready to go. ron initially shouldn't have played until wednesday but i feel he saw yao going out, he felt he had to play.

You darn right they are 2 year olds. They fake injuries, claim to be whole and the next day say they may need a MRI or season ending surgery.

We all know how 2 year oldish tracy acts when he just get's a scratch. These dudes are attention freaks who don't have a bit of professionalism.

I remember in an interview after he "shut it down" a couple of weeks ago, Battier said something like "I came back too early to fill in for other guys and I reinjured myself."

I feel like this is a similar situation but of course because its ron artest, its ridiculous drama. We desperately need the all star break right now....Unfortunately for Yao, it wont be much of a break. I wish they could just stay home and get healthy
