When Frank Bush was introduced as the Texans’ new defensive coordinator Tuesday, he used words like attack, aggressive and violent while describing his philosophy... This is everything ive always wanted the Texans defense to be... With these young fast linebackers i think we can put alot more presure on offenses if he can get them to be more agressive. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/6209807.html
I like my Mario Williams dropped into pass coverage, personally. Its hard to throw over a dude who is like 9'6" and 498lbs amirite?
If we can somehow get peppers and our secondary does good were can have a top 10 defense... i just hope rick, kubiak, and mcnair are willing to spend some big bucks
Peppers said he wants to play in a 3-4 defense. I would hope that would include Big Al but i'm not sure why he would leave the Titans for us.
Id do that in a heartbeat but i think the texans need a game changing safety for this defense to get where we all want it to be... hopefully we can get a great safety this season i the draft... im not sure if there are any good free agent safetys
Getting another big time pass rusher could make the secondary that much better. Any time you can put pressure on the QB rushing 4 guys, the secondary's lack of talent could be covered some. The top priorities in the offseason should be trading for Peppers (or signing him if he's not franchised/released) or Big Al.
Haynesworth is going going to be the marquee FA this summer, I forgot who it was on ESPN but he wasn't even sure the Titans would be able retain him because of the huge offers he'll get elsewhere.
"[Chron] Bush has strategy to revive defense" - Looks like a title of thread you'd see in D&D circa 2002 Maybe with the slight rise in ticket prices and the parking price gouging the Texans can afford to really splurge on an "over the hump" type free agent. Gotta be realistic about your team and no overspend, and Texans have a mediocre history of free agent signings. But if there's a team that needs one more impact player to at least keep continuity going, maybe its the Texans next season? Some people might remember how Reggie White help legitimize Green Bay several years ago.
