I'm at a loss. One of my best friends got stuck with 45 years on a bull**** charge, thanks to Madoff and his crap. Best I can see is that at best, he has to serve 38 years.

Any ideas on how to knock a few more?

It's bad enough to have him sentenced for 45 years and you call it a bull**** charge?

It was bull****. In fact, once his partners "bought" him out, he started a company that is still thriving, but the liabilities to the A&O debacle, due to royalties, led to his demise.

He must have a lot of money then. The solution should be obvious.

He did, but it was all confiscated.

I really would like any input from legal folks.

    Yup.

Fight the corruption at its source; the massive prison industrial complex (private prison companies) and the corrupt politicians and judges who keep it alive.

if you want to lessen that 45 year sentence then plant some drugs on a fellow inmate and have your buddy rat that person out. I think that worked in The Wire.

So you're saying he deserved a few years... Why didn't he accept the plea agreement?

Sounds like he was given that chance. He took the gamble and lost.

befriend man who can get you things in prison.
Win the appreciation of the guards and the trust of the warden by being a tax whiz.
Get rock hammer and poster of Rita Hayworth from friend and tunnel through walls of the prison while covering up hole with poster.
Plan escape for a rainy night through doo-doo tunnel.
    Profit.

Shoulve pleaded...sorry...the top rank guys get off...and the low guys often take pleas...but middle men think they can fight...and spend some good time in prison...so rule of thumb...dont be the middle guy...and take a plea deal especially if you know you did something wrong...
