After watching the Clippers game last night and noticing how well Chris Wilcox plays when given an opportunity, I can't help but pointing out how intrigued I am by this guy. He looks like a player thats just waiting to kick open the door somewhere and blossum into one hell of a player. I know its playoff basketball time and thinking to the future is premature, but given his situation with being stuck behind Elton Brand and his status as possibly being expendable....I can only hope CD will take a look into this guy this offseason.

actually, because of how well he is playing he may be making brand more available. if you have 2 PF's that can both produce almost the same...you would keep the cheaper one. steve for brand is possible.

Unfortunately right now they don't really need to do anything with those two if they don't want to... but if they get one of the top two picks, then yeah - they won't keep Brand, Wilcox and Okafor-or-Howard. Brand could be used as trade bait to fill a need in that instance.

And one of their needs is PG. How about a PG that is flashy, moves merchandise and is a fixture on the west all star team? ;)

A little off topic but it concerns a power forward:

The talk may be very small, but there is a possibility that Darko Milicic could become available. Before going to Detroit, Rasheed Wallace was clear with his intentions that he wanted to be in New York, but much of that has now subsided. Aparently, Wallace has bought into Larry Brown and his philosophy and is very happy in Detroit and the direction in which the team is heading. On top, Rasheed has been well received by the fans there as well.

Could Milicic become available? There may be a possibility that he does. I am high on Mehmet Okur and the tools and versatility he could bring to the Rockets frontcourt, but Dumars does not have plans to let Okur go by way of free agency. Even if there is a possibility for Darko to be had through a trade, I think the Rockets are in an unlikely position to do anything about it. But Okur on the other hand, is very likely (despite Dumars), and would be a nice pick-up in free agency.

For grins I'll take a stab at a Milicic deal:

    -Francis (end base year)
    -Portion of the trade exception

    for

    -Billups
    -Milicic

I've been watching clippers games on league pass, and you can tell that chris wilcox is on the verge of becoming something special.

He may not ever be a perennial all star, but he's the kind of guy that goes out and makes plays happen.

thats what i was thinking. i read in some thread that steve's jersey is #8 among best selling nba jerseys. i know the clipps are about making $$. they are not trying to win as mush as they are trying to stay exciting.

they would have a much more fun team to whach:

    kaman-drobnjac
    wilcox-ely
    maggetty
    richardson-jaric
    steve-dooling

add a lotto pick at either foward spot...

    they may bite!
