It seems as if the few big men that were on the market are being locked up by teams that can pay them a lot more. I would love to get our hands on Eric Dampier, but that's a pipe dream and I don't smoke those anymore.

    Chris Mihm

I think he's a restricted free agent and maybe deserves a look. I must admit that I don't seem him often, but the times I do see him...he looks pretty good. He seems to have a lot of hustle in him with a lil mean streak.....that's a good mix. We probably can make a decent 3-4 year offer worth 10-11 million for his services. Of course, I'm no GM and I usually don't speak about players I know little about, but maybe he can be a nice addition. All we need is some decent minutes from him a night while Yao is taking a rest. Our back-up center doesn't need to be a star...just serviceable. What are ya'll thoughts?

Before DaDakota says it, he was right about Mihm.

I wouldn't pay him over the veteran's minimum.

Umm, no. Skinner would be a better replacement.

While I would like someone with a little more bulk, I would be thrilled to get Mihms. He can block some shots, get some rebounds and has some offense to go with it. Not a great player but a good player and could develope into a Brad Miller type at some point.

It would be a nice pickup if we could get Mihm for cheap.

He's a 7 footer that brings a lot of energy on the court. He brings a consistent 6ppg 5rpg a night, and I've seen some impressive dunks from him too.

I really liked his game in college, I still think he can be a nice player.

Personally, I like the idea of bringing TX boys back to TX, so I kinda root for us to sign guys like Mihm (from UT) and Skinner (from Baylor).

But, again, I like 'em more for their roots than their game. But if you're signing bench guys who might not get a whole lotta PT, I'd prefer to go with TX boys than NY ones, that's for sure.

While I do like Mihm and what his game was in college, I would love it if the rockets got their hands on Fizer if the Bobcats let him go.

No way. And I'm a huge Texas basktball fan. I thought the guy was overrated when he was at UT and he's done nothing to prove me wrong so far in the pros.

I agree, I live in Austin and I thought he was overrated as well. I always thought Muoneke was the best player on that team.

In my opinion we need a banger to back up Yao, not a jumpshooter.

Besides, Michael Doleac would be cheaper and not much worse.

I seen both of them play enough to conclude that Mihm is definitely better than deceptively poor Collier.

Mihm will be an adequate backup center. Skinner will do too (a better choice).

One thing I know is this - we will be landing Barry and we will also land a back up 5 who can hussle and rebound enough to give us solid 10-15 minutes on the floor.

Mihm is a very good rebounder. #10 in the NBA in rebounds per 48 minutes last year. I remember looking at that category earlier in the season when he was #3 in rebounds per 48 minutes. I admit, I was surprised. He also has a decent hook shot.

He would be a serviceable backup, but I hope the rox can use the TE to get someone better.
