Nothing groundbreaking but still good news....

ChrisMannixSI Word is Yao Ming ahead of schedule in his comeback from foot surgery and should be full speed by training camp

Isn't this what the Rockets have said all along? I thought I remember them always saying Yao would be ready by training camp?

It's not Yao I'm worried about. It's our coaching staff who thinks he can go longer than he really can... If he is ahead of schedule great! Act like he isn't and continue to be cautious.

I really hope they follow through with the 20-25 minutes for this season.

Yes 100% agree, I wouldn't up his minute from 20-25 until probably mid season. Our coaches will have to fight the urge of giving him more minutes in the bigging of the season, when he looks great on the floor.

We don't want the big guy breaking down in the playoffs again, so we have to be extra cautious this time around!

This is what all the Miller hype is about. Keeping the big guy at 100% throughout the entire season. Having Miller as a backup gives us the best chance at doing so. ;)

yao the tofu is simply not nba starter material. play him 20mins at most otherwise he will be done in 50 games, again. trade him b4 the deadline plz, we do need a real center who can play 35mins+.

i think that was tmac who said it...morey pretty much insisted on it really being around december/jan and then moved it up to late november.

Not NBA starter material? The guy has dominated Shaq and Dwight, and I think this year he'll be a top 3 center in the league. Dude, you try being 7'5 in the NBA... hes done FAR better than anybody expected. His injuries really screwed him and us last year, but that doesn't mean you forget what he's done. We're NOWHERE near a playoff team without him.. and all this hope for next season and our future would be nonexistent if it wasn't for him. How can you demand he be traded? Who better would we get to start? We don't need to get rid of him, just find a backup. In my eyes, on pure skill alone, Yao should be a Hall of Famer.
