Well, the Bulls still have yet to re-sign any of their restricted free agents, including Chris Duhon. I really like this kid. He really seems like the perfect PG for a JVG team. Outstanding defender (#1 PG in Rosenbaum's rankings, FWIW), very good floor general with patience and court vision. He plays with a lot of intensity, and he really has the types of leadership qualities you look for in a PG. His jumpshot is inconsistent, but his form is pretty good, so his J should get better with time. I see him developing into a player like Eric Snow, but with a lot more range on his jumper. The Bulls are looking to give him something in the $2million/year range, so obviously they'd match any LLE offer. That said, Hinrich is their PG, and Ben Gordon's not going to come off the bench forever, so I think a SnT deal could be worked out to get him. I didn't like him very much coming out of college, but after seeing him last season, I'd be very interested in getting this guy. It might take too much to get him though... He's seems like just the type of guy that Skiles loves (which is why I think JVG would want him too). Still, I'd love for the Rockets to try.
Well we haven't sign J.Barry but that doesn't mean that we will not. No way Bulls let Duhon slip by. I think they will bring every FA back except for Curry.(Who by the way gets own by Yao)
I don't think the Bulls view him as an untouchable, especially if they make a serious bid to bring Michael Finley home (granted, that's unlikely). But keep in mind, Duhon looks to be a backup there, and for some inexplicable reason the Bulls seem to like Jannero Pargo.
that would be a stupid part on bulls if they like Pargo. Just becuase he played good in one game doesn't make him better than Duhon. If Bulls don't want him than i would pick Duhon over NVE.
The Bulls are one of the teams I pay almost no attention to. Isn't Duhon already behind Hinrich & Gordon? How valuable can he be to them? If he is a PG and can play we should try to get him. Is he any good? The only thing I remember about the Bulls last year is we dominated them, especially the 2nd game.
Unlike Snow, the mechanics of Chris' shot suggest that he can eventually learn to be a top-notch jump shooter. Snow's form is so rigid, like a push shot, whereas Duhon has a natural fling to his motion -- though the results aren't always pure. He can get hot from deep. He hit eight of nine from behind the arc in a game against the Hawks last year. And he's a gamer, his back was wrenched all to hell in the Playoffs and he still played through it, even diving into the photographer's row during a game. I remember him in the locker room after that game, strugging to even put his socks on.
Duhon was their starter for most of last season. Heinrich was the 2, and Gordon 6th man. Duhon was great for them.
I watched this guy in college at Duke. Coach K called him one of the best defenders in Duke history. I actually wanted the Rox to take him in the 2nd rd last year, but, it was not to be. I'd be shocked if the Bulls let him go. But I'd love to have him. He'd fit great. Duhon is so unselfish, it, at times, is a bad thing (but it has been worked out of him before, and can be done so again). He is completly pass first pg, and is always looking for other guys to get thier shot. He is a decent 3pt shooter (not great), hustles for evey lose ball, and is a GREAT defender. He'd be a great fit here, but, he is a great fit where he is at. I'd be shocked if he goes (here's hoping he is on his way )
Duhon was the best perimeter defender on that Bulls team last year, and he is a true PG who can run an offense. If he ever learns to make that jump shot (which is not a given...his shooting actually got worse since his freshman year in college), he'll be a starting caliber PG in the league for a decade. That said, Duhon is not clearly better than guys like Sura and James, and he's going to get more than LLE from somebody. I think that he'll eventually resign with Chicago because that seems to the only place where he can get a starting job.
Wow thats a strong statement about someone who led a young bulls team to 45? wins.. This almost sounds like a classic comment.
I remember watching this kid during his freshman year at Duke when they were in the final four and he was having a hell of a game. Suddenly he went up high for a ball and came down hard on the back of his head. It was head to hard wood and looked like it should have knocked his eyes out of his sockets. I remember him going to the locker room and watching his mom leaving the stands to go after him and thinking that his career might be done before it even started. It wasn't too long though that he came back out on the court and finished the game. It was one of the gutsiest things I have ever seen in sports.
In college I devotedly watched "Dallas" re-runs and drank copious amounts of liquor. I would use this as an example of how someone can grow as a person in order to piss all over your previous post, but let's face it, watching "Dallas" re-runs and drinking copious amounts of liquor are the highlights of my usual Wednesday in 2005, too. Haven't really changed much. So, yeah, I guess Chris Duhon is garbage.
chris duhon has one good rookie season, and all of a sudden everyones saying hes the greatest point guard in the world...................... duke has a history of producing crappy nba talent. i dont like duke and i dont like any of its players. (ill be nice to daniel ewing since he is from missouri city).
