Anyone know a reputable place on the west side or Katy area? Not just CHL but a basic gun handling course or something. Might be a good Christmas present for someone.

Keep an eye on Groupon. They always have CHL classes.

Are you kidding me? Talk about a 180. All I've seen you do is bash guns and gun owners countless times (including me), and now you want to help someone get their CHL?

Great, you're setting them up to be a murderer!

And what's the point? Dead people can't return fire!

EDIT: Excuse my shock. I guess I should say for anyone looking to get their CHL in Texas I strongly recommend visiting, reading and becoming a member of Texas CHL Forum. Charles Cotton is a Houston-based lawyer who runs the site and provides CHL training in Pearland. Other CHL instructors also post their classes and information as well. There is a ton of great information on the forum regarding gun safety, and you're bound to learn something - especially from the stories in "Never Again."

Of course, all of these responsible gun owners are just ticking time bombs.

And here I thought buying some training for a gun owner was a responsible thing, little did I know it was a precursor to murder. Err, thanks.

Your words, not mine. Apparently, you think all it takes is for a gun owner to have a bad day and boom, murderer.

Of course, that's why there are several hundred thousand murders a year in the United States. You got me.

Instead of derailing the thread to score meaningless points on an internet message board, I'll recommend Athena. My only reason is because my nephew worked there while home from college this summer. It's on the north side of I-10, just west of the Beltway.

Thanks, I'll check them out. I'm just looking for somewhere professional so my friend can get some quality instruction on handling and the law and what have you.
