they should be worried about Yao's future with all those bullsh*t summer commitments. If the chinese people can't see how humiliated and lacking Yao's current skillset in the NBA is now, then they are outright selfish at wanting him to come back and sell tickets for them during the summers. Yao needs to train in the summer in the NBA so he can help China in the big picture, including all the aspiring NBA-hopefuls training in China right now. If Yao turns out to be a has-been or a "soft chinese center" there's no way other NBA GMs will take another chance like that for a long time.

I second that wholeheartedly. I find myself seeing it more and more feasible that the Rockets have to trade him after his contract ends simply because by then he is worn out completely. That would be sad for the Rockets, but especially sad for Yao.

The chinese people I was referring to was the MEDIA you moron. Its a sad fact that not even they could probably change the greed of the Chinese government in their interest in Yao Ming and his star power and skills for their own interests, but at least something needs to be said about it.

How do you get "so you're saying if Yao sucks, then all chinese suck" from my post? You're an idiot. Like you said, stop overreacting.

I understand your view point but the intial post was about "the chinese fans worrying about Yao's future under Larry Smith". And I believe they do have a legitimate concern.

Yao is obviously dealing with a tremendous amount of adversity and he needs a coach who's had experience (Rudy). Smith at this point in time does not seem ready to be a head coach (at least not at this level for this type of team). Having said that, what is it that you disagree with?

the chinese people you were referring to was the media, then you should say the media. don't take the media's opinion and act as if they represent all chinese people. and no, i don't understand what you're saying, since i don't speak idiot-ese. if you have a brain, learn how to phrase a sentence correctly. and stop with the bull$hit suspicions. greed of the chinese government?

"If Yao turns out to be a has-been or a "soft chinese center" there's no way other NBA GMs will take another chance like that for a long time. "

what do you call this bs? one bad game, and you're ready to call the guy a has been. do you remember what moses malone scored on kareem abdul jabbar in his first game against kareem?

"How do you get "so you're saying if Yao sucks, then all chinese suck" from my post? "

see above quote from your post. 'nuff said. basically stating that if yao turns out to be a has-been, then all gms will view chinese players as a risk based on their racial background? but then again, maybe that's just another phrase from your idiot-ese language that i misunderstood.

Its not Larry Smiths fault that Yao Ming is playing like a pussie.

you know, the title of this thread is the dumbest thing i have ever seen. chinese worried Yao's future under Larry Smith? seriously, they only show a couple of rockets games in china. in some areas, they don't even show the nba. rocketfanfromla needs to choose a better title. i don't know any chinese losing sleep over this $hit. the only thing i'm worried about is that we lost eddie griffin. and without eddie, the rockets defense will be weaker. and the only sad thing about watching yesterday's game is that it shows the rockets have no chance of competing for a title this year. because yao alone obviously has no defensive presence against shaq and if you can't play defense, you can't win championships.

and if you can't win championships or get in the playoffs, the team is not worth watching. so for the chinese fans who actually wasted their time watching the rockets hoping they would win a championship, they're probably relieved and happy they can finally get some of their work done by not watching the rockets.  ;)

    Easy..spiral,

RocketfanfromLA did a good job translating the title. He was loyal to the original news title.

However, Sina.com sucks. All news from Sina are crap. I suggest all Chinese fans stop reading that website, seriously.
