Thanks guys! You have potentially destroyed Yao Ming's career and your greatest sports icon! Thanks guys for not allowing Yao to have an offseason until he was completely broken down!

you could also sarcastically thank the rockets (et al) for playing him more minutes and the nba for making him gain 50+ lbs of muscle.

    The CBA could reply with

"Thanks Houston Rockets, you have ruined Yao Ming's career and our greatest sports icon. Thanks for not resting him enough during your silly little 'for profit' season."

50 pounds of muscle? wasn't yao 290-ish when he came in? and fwiw yao has only averaged 32+ mpg for his career....not a ton for a big time starter. shaq has averaged over 35.5 mpg for his career.

Lock this thread. The Rockets overplayed him and never wisely invested in a backup for him. And when Mutumbo was playing well, we went on a 22 game winning streek. The rockets organization overvalued and overplayed Yao Ming. Now his career is in jeopardy, and that's partly due to his genetics among other things.

and yao ming doesn't become a great international sports icon if he isn't playing in the nba.

lol@the 'for profit' as if to imply china hasn't made a ton off of yao's international success.

how many off seasons has yao had national team obligations? the only worthwhile ones were the 04 and 08 olympics. and like i said above if you think 32+ mpg is overplaying him then you should check out what ever other starter in basketball plays.

This is his job. Rockets freakin PAY him.

Does your job protects you? Don't think so.

Yao had foot problems the day he was drafted. How about we just blame genetics.

You no be knowing what you be talking about. Yao is greatest man of all times and CBA is what made him be the great in greatest. CBA is like the perch where a great eagle perched with power claws. May NBA burn in hell for causing these injuries to the man who should be of the president of the world.

genetics is certainly to blame too but the problems don't need to be made worse by never giving the big guy any time off.

    Don't lock this thread!

The CBA has much to be PROUD of. They groomed this man from a childhood to push his body to the brink.

How do you destroy a 7'6 man?

You give him to the Chinese.

Can't believe this thread hasn't been locked yet

Genetics has to be factored in.

Also if I recall correctly, Yao WANTED to play in the Olympics and it was HIS decision.

    Regardless, it's a damn shame...

What's the use in pointing fingers. The fact is that Yao's feet are too fragile for a long athletic career. It's not about rest, it's about anatomy.

You do know that Yao plays a LOT more games for the Rockets than he does for CNT....

Exactly. CBA actually helped the development of young Yao. NBA is where he gain fame and fortune. Every good player plays for National Teams. It's just unfortunate that Yao is built fragile, just like other big men.

Let's just hope Yao gets well soon and continue his quest for a Championship, hopefully at Rox.
